I can’t stand it

When an app updates and forces me to put in my credentials again, especially when I have to create an app password for it. Apple is partially to blame for not providing better authentication systems but it’s still a bad look for an app I’m not even sure I like as much as the previous version. Do better.

Wasn’t as promised to be

I have been using this app since too many years ago, I really enjoyed it since then. Now it is too slow to receive an email, even I signed in using another service which I received immediately on that one and took to much time to receive it on Spark, thanks for the smart updates. Smart inbox, there’s nothing smart about classic which vertically displays my received emails and classic which vertically displays all “focused” and “others” in the same inbox. Promises of bringing spark to windows is undergoing as I think, I’ve been promised by you to allow spark on windows since 2015 If I’m not mistaken, 2023 and it is not yet available. It is the end of using spark. I only enjoyed it in the past. Starts to hate using this mailbox this year and 2 years ago. It once was an amazing app, not anymore. I rated it two stars one star for the foldering it allows me to create that is a nonsense no ruling or filtering goes to the folders I created. Folders were useless. The second star for really helped me Pin emails to see the first.

New update allows spam

Before this new update I had 0 issues with the app recognizing spam and automatically moving them into a separate folder. Now, after this update, dozens of spam emails all from the same sending addresses are flooding my inbox. If I had to guess, Spark is allowing this so you’ll pay their subscription.

DUMPED AIRMAIL FOR SPARK in UKRAINE!

I used to like Airmail because it was the only one where I could swipe left and right — just like Tinder — to prioritize or dump emails. Now Airmail has gotten clunky, doesn’t sync across devices and worst of all, is unreliable in searching thousands of old emails for a keyword. Apple Mail does a great job of that and I was switching back and forth. Now I see that SPARK has all the features I loved about Airmail — including easy-to-spot avatars on the left side of email list, so I’m jumping ship. I set up all my accounts on the desktop version and instead of having to manually set them up — or at least with passwords — on every …. Single …. Device …. I …. Use, which is about 8. Spark immediately synced up and I’m ready to roll. PLUS, they’re in Ukraine and on a recent customer service email with Maksym, his signature says “With Love From Ukraine.” I sent him back a note saying how we in the US are in support of Ukraine and are horrified to see what’s been done to them. It’s not every day I feel like I can send love around the world to someone who’s being wronged. Today was one of them. It put me in tears. Eric in Los Angeles

Completely unusable on iPhone. Almost unusable on desktop

I wanted to love Spark... there are things I do really like about it. Unfortunately, I can't use it. On the iPhone app it's just a blank screen with loading circles - emails never load. On Desktop Premium, it just freezes, multiple errors, crashes, and unresponsive. I click on an email to read and then continue to work in another window while I wait for the email to actually open. This is not sustainable.

Miss the old days

I really want to give Spark five stars, but the latest iteration has just been a mess since it dropped last year. The worst of its many problems is that I can’t switch to another application while drafting an email without it crashing. Need to look up a link? Crash…now I need to go to drafts and hope it saved my draft. This happens every time. Honestly, with the subscription model, I should be looking for another app.

Update: Best support ever

THE only app on the App Store that responds directly to a bug report. Previously had a problem with badge notifications on an older update and reached out to their support. They were very communicative and asked for examples. A few quick versions later and boom! The fix was in the app - all during 2022 when I’m sure the Spark team had more to worry about.
