I wanted to like this, I really did. I spend more time chasing down errors than I do minding my finances. It isn’t compatible with my Credit Union and the manual balances don’t match up for more than a few weeks to a month.
Every time I open this app now, I get spammed with a pop-up triyng to get me to buy other apps from the developer. I did not buy this app for the pleasure of being spammed. KNOCK IT OFF!
I have about two dozen accounts spread across some fairly common banks — Chase, AmEx, Discover Card, etc. I cannot connect to a single one of them. This was a complete waste of money.
I hate to leave a negative review, I appreciate the work that goes into building a program but I am just not thrilled with this one which was by no means inexpensive. Why do I have to click so many buttons to perform the most simple tasks? Categories and reconciling for example take so many click click clicks! Repetitive actions should be simple to tab through without going back and forth from mouse to keyboard repeatedly. Categories should not need to be “programmed in” with each new vendor, should simply tab to categories and scroll/click for locations without going to mouse and programming each one. Reconciling items should require one easy action, not three or more, not three buttons simultaneously either, just one tap please. Perhaps not worth mentioning as it is a subjective aspect, I just don’t like the interface. I think in an attempt to make it “look simple” it looks almost elementary consequently it adds so many spaces, colors and lines that it’s cumbersome to quickly view. Laslty, I spent the extra $ for app to sync on phone and it is just not reliable. If I use it on one device, when go back to other it asks me which version I want to keep and delete, I cannot be confident I will not lose data. I would like this program more if it streamlined it’s appearance and daily use and made the cloud more reliable. Honestly if had been less expensive I would ditch it.
I have lost so many transactions multiple times because auto save doesn’t work. FIX IT. I do not have time to go back in and add a months worth of transactions and other items I need to pay. It is so frustrating. I will not purchase this again (I had to purchase becuase of the old one did not work with the nextest operating system).
Apparently its awesome if you use german banks, but wont connect to most US banks like Wells Fargo, Chase, etc… Mint by Intuit, has no problem with any US banks, even small teeny tiny Community banks!
I would like to see this currency to be tracked like stocks.
I just bought this software because they claim that they can sync with US institutions. I tried out 5 different institutions and none worked, even though, they were in the list of available institutions. I tried to read the support through multiple options a couple of times, but never heard back from them at all. I also have the iphone app because I thought I can track my cash spending with it, but far from beeing correct. The sync doesnt work and the app crashes loosing all saved data. This is a waste of money (I WANT MY MONEY BACK!) and a scam DON’T BUY! I guess I wasted the $40.
anytime i try to add a bank account, it has a reported error and will not connect my account, i want a refund, this app is horrible
I started using iFinance 3 a number of years ago, and was very pleased with it, but after updating to version 4, synchronization between my Mac and iPhone has been absolutely impossible. I’ve had several back-and-forths with Synium, but none of their suggestions has worked; neither WiFi nor iCloud. I’m very disappointed, and am now resigned to trying to find an app which CAN do what iFinance used to do.
