I started this app because I am going through a really rough period in my life. Has it helped? I want to think so as I am still functioning and breathing. I am able to recognize my first ever panic attacks and calm down better. As a senior citizen, ahem, I appreciate the ease of the app and being able to repeat the sessions that are most valuable to me. Thank you, Dan and company, for caring enough about others to create this app to help us.
If I could six stars I would! Love this app and all the people who make this happen. Podcasts, mediatations, the whole lot and caboodle, they've become a wonderful source of information, support, and connection in my life. :-)
Just finished a ten minute meditation, happy to have done so.
I don’t expect much from “Free” apps, but after two months of using the app, trying desperately to find some peace of mind, I open the app this morning to find EVERY SINGLE meditation option on the home page is SUBSCRIPTION ONLY! I go to the contents list. First one is my “Favorites”, two meditations that I have done several times already. I go to my “History”, I see all the completed meditations. I go to “Live Classes”, none available. I go to “Weekly Wisdom, EVERY SINGLE MEDITATION IS LOCKED! Only available to people who can afford $100 per year, and that’s not me at this point in my life. So, with no free meditation sessions in the usual places, this app feels like someone cares more about money than the wellbeing of others. Even just ONE non-subscription meditation on the (well populated) home screen would have prevented my meltdown!!
I was very skeptical of a meditation app. I thought of it as the very opposite of the thing that would help me be mindful, but the teachings and guided meditations have had such a tremendous impact on me. It has turned into a practice with or without my phone. Also I will add it’s about so much more than mindfulness. So much more!
Ten Percent Happier has been a lifesaver for me, giving me the tools I need to navigate my days. I can search the different topics and find just what I need. The podcasts are my favorite—I never miss them! Highly recommended.

Dan Harris’ book 10% Happier was so good, witty & intellectual, it inspired me to try his meditation website. The app is amazing! I’ve taken nearly all the original courses which are truly spectacular in their depth of knowledge & education of practice of meditation beyond my expectations. It raised the bar of why meditation works for everyone who tries it & continues to do so, making it a daily practice. The courses are not boring and made for everyone, beginners & well seasoned meditators. More courses are added all the time so there is never a shortage of new material. Dan sourced his teachers from the best of the best, even the Dalai Lama! I have been able to make profound changes in my life & relationships because of his generosity to have everyone learn to meditate & become a more healthy & happier human being who realizes the value of loving kindness to others in their immediate family, circle of friends & those in the world who need peace in their lives. I am very grateful to Dan for sharing his knowledge with the world at large & engaging so many wonderful teachers to join his mission to bring the practice of meditation to everyone! We don’t know what we are missing until we try. We have everything to learn & nothing to lose except the negative things about ourselves we’ve been wanting to change for the longest time. Thank you Dan & all the teachers you have found to bring their experience, intellect, wisdom & kindness to us all. For this I am so very grateful.
I have been meditating using the 10% Happier app for over a year now and all the different courses and meditation offerings encourage me to practice more regularly. I’ve noticed that I can handle stress better. When things do get tough, it’s easier to step out of the mode of just “reacting” and instead connect to my breathing and my body to calm myself down. It’s become easier to recognize stress and then to see different, more creative ways of dealing with it. Through the app I’m also learning to be more compassionate towards myself and others. I can recognize my own negative self talk and try to change my inner dialogue. I also enjoy listening to the many far ranging and engaging podcasts that Dan moderates. I find it fascinating to listen to the perspectives of folks who are top of their various fields. It’s inspiring. Many thanks to Dan Harris and his team for continuing to create and bring amazing content that benefits all of your listeners.
I’ve been using 10% Happier for over 3 years and it’s the perfect way to start my day with the daily dose or one of the other singles. I’ve also enjoyed the challenges and courses.
