When trying out the one month free trial, I had set a “3 week alarm” on my phone, to let me know to cancel, should I decide NOT to keep this app. After deciding I wanted to go another direction with my choices, I cancelled the so-called “1 MONTH FREE TRIAL” after 3 weeks. UNDERSTAND, I HAD DONE THIS WITH MY EMAIL ACCOUNT! 2 weeks later, my Mom asks me about a charge on HER CREDIT CARD statement from HBO???! I had watched a couple shows on her IPad, instead of my laptop. Obviously, they trolled out her ITunes account, found her credit card info and charged her account!! I went back and retraced my steps, insuring I had cancelled out on the app. I had done everything on my end as I was supposed to do and...GUESS WHAT???!!! MY MOM’S CREDIT CARD HAS BEEN CHARGED, AGAIN, FOR A SECOND MONTH!!! Legal issues, along with the BBB, are having to be involved at this point. Believe me...GO WITH ANY OTHER APP BUT THIS ONE!!! 👺☠️🤬
A ridiculous amount of resets that require you to log on to their website to confirm your subscription which strips the app of any actual value. An annoying tedious repetitive chore that outlines HBO’s incompetence.
The APP consistently freezes, especially when using it to cast to a chrome cast. Want to pause while casting? Forget about it. Want to stop next episode from playing? Forget about it while casting. You have to consistently open and close the App to get it to work correctly.
interface can be improved. sort movies by popularity?? instead of alphabetically.. make it more like netflix.
This is a review of the app and not at all of hbo programming. This app is garbage and getting worse. After every session I have to uninstall the app and reset my router (at hbo supports suggestion) to have any chance of getting to watch a show. The support team wants to blame my cable provider and or Apple devices for the constant issues, ignoring that it is the only streaming service I have issues with. Upon starting programming I almost always receive an error code. Usually 102 sometimes 104. A quick internet search reveals threads full of people having the same issue who have tried myriad solutions to no avail going back years. After spending weeks reading threads, calling and emailing with HBO customer support, calling and sharing HBO supports suggestions with my internet provider, finagling my router settings etc. I am done. I have cancelled my subscription and will be removing the app as soon as my final month is over. It is worth noting that the challenges I have had are present on Apple, Amazon and Google devices and on different networks with different internet providers. This is most definitely HBO’s problem and one they clearly have not been able to or probably bothered to fix for years. Believe the bad reviews.
HBO closes every time I try to use chromecast. Error code 102.
I got my password wrong a few times and I haft to wait 60 minutes just to retry.
I cancelled my subscription and was told I was paid up till July 30 BUT HBO IS STILL TRYING TO BILL ME THROUGH ITUNES EVEN THOUGH I CANCELLED MY SUBSCRIPTION AND IT IS WAY BEFORE THE 30 I’m very dissatisfied with this type of practices
Trying to stream a movie through the app on Amazon Firestick is impossible. All you get is errors. Terrible.
