I don’t think Im gonna keep the subscription because I can only watch the app on my IPhone but when I connect it to my smart tv it just plays the HBO preview then when it gets time for the movie to play it just buffers for ever, & I know my WIFI is A1 because everything else plays just fine on other apps. Ps: it’s crazy because as I’m making this review the move starts to play but has no volume yo it now. Smh I can’t win for losing 🤦🏾♂️
In the ERA of OTT platforms.. it’s all about the content along with watching experiences on Apps. App has so many flaws, poor navigation and also doesn’t work properly while casting to other devices.
This is ridiculous. You have to sign into TWO ACCOUNTS to cancel this over priced BS. That’s a great business model, just simply make cancellation impossible.
Tried to watch 3 shows in the past month and each time it played a few minutes, paused a few times, then displayed a screen saying “Can’t play title. We’re having trouble playing this video. Please try again later.” I tried. Multiple times. On various shows. At different times. On different days. Monday at 1:30 in the afternoon HBO MAX won’t stream a movie. A documentary on a weekend evening won’t play. ABC works fine and I’m not even paying them anything! Pay $20 a month, and HBO tells me I should want to watch sometime later, not now. HBO MAX demonstrates exactly why streaming is such a bad idea. This NEVER happens with DVDs or OTA television!
It was a great app at first I really loved all the content. But then out of no where it logged me off ok no problem I tried logging back it and it said my information is wrong when I haven’t changed the password or anything it won’t let me connect using my xfinity information then it says I have to pay for the app but it’s suppose to come with my plan with Comcast. If this is just a way to get people to pay more for something they don’t have to pay for then I’m done HBO and Comcast
I was really impressed with HBO Max content. Not only it has the original HBO content but also seems to have every latest movie. I don’t think I would need to keep my Netflix or Disney+ subscription with HBO Max around
HBO max is relatively new, so I understand some bugs, however I can’t watch a title without issues when trying to skip past episode recap or anything I don’t want to watch. Problems with casting where if you don’t correct the settings immediately, it disconnects your phone from the episode page, making you start the process over.
I miss HBO GO. Get that business agreement set up! For whatever reason (and I’ve tried several troubleshooting options), this app will not connect to my chromecast tv. It used to, but now it doesn’t. Plenty of other apps work fine. Content is good, just needs bugs fixed.
Still no app for Roku smart TVs and casting feature only works half of the time.
