Deceptive Description

I am extremely disappointed after downloading this program. ALL OF THE MOST POPULAR BIBLE VERSIONS (such as NIV, The Message, Amplified, NLT, NASB, Living Bible, etc.) that one would use to study DO NOT COME WITH THE PROGRAM. They much be puchased, all individually- $20 and up for each version! The only reference made about this by the app pulisher is in the description at the very bottom of page, which vaguely states "some locked resources must be purchased from their pubilisher." It is not just some- it is ALL of the of the most popular bible versions that MUST BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY! THIS IS NOT A SMALL DETAIL. IT IS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH THAT IS SHOULD BE DIRECTLY ADDRESSED IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION. Unless you plan to pay a significant amount of money for additional translations, this app is essentially a $10 KJV and Strong's search tool. What is here is available online completely for free, plus way more. I understand the liscensing requirements for products, but the description of this product was not only unclear, but misleading. Very disappointing, and a waste of $10.

A long way before being equal with PC version

I thank and praise God for the efforts of br. Rick Meyers and team in developing and freely distributing the e-Sword software. The windows release is an outstanding piece, while the Mac OS is only in its early stages of development. I hope and pray that it will be as functional as the Windows version very soon. Again, thank you for this application.

Great app, but lacking a few small details

This app is really nice overall. Provides a lot of resoures, ability to compare different bibles as well as compare different concordances. Only a couple things that I'd like to see. First being the ability to disable tooltips when the dictionary view is open and instead open the links in the dictionary view directly. The tooltips are more of a nuisance than they are worth. The second thing that would be nice is either a better system for customized layouts (but that's likely a lot of work) or simply a way to view the concordance view without the entire dictionary search view. It'd be nice to see concordance adjacent to the editor instead of taking up a ton of horizontal space. Thanks for the nice app!

Not up to the PC app's standards

I have used the PC version of e-Sword for a decade, and I have gotten used to the simplicity of copying verses, cross-referencing, and looking up words and searching for verses. The interface on PC is MUCH more intuitive, and the general abilities are better overall. When I highlight a set of verses, I expect a "Copy Verses" option to come up, with some selection for HOW I want to copy them, but on Mac, I don't get that. On PC, I occasionally use e-Sword to look up verses and made slides on the fly during a free-form worship session. Yeah, can't do that on the Mac version. I love what you've done in general, but this version is far behind the ease of use of the PC version.

love came to EARTH

Allow us to link to verses from other apps! Diacritics omits them for every word in the search

please allow us to use urls to link to verses in your program! accordance and other apps allow this. your windows version allows wikilinks and urls to link to things. the new feature deletes all accents for the whole verses. please only take them out from the word that is searched or sentence! please dont miss these crucial updates for another 6 months!
