Paid for app. Get a message that it can’t download at this time. I am on WiFi so no issue there. Wasted 7 dollars.
Great app. Works well in every feature except allowing iGate functionality even through a TNC. Add that and the power of APRS will double ten fold.
I like the program but the filters need work.
By far what I see on YouTube and a lot of posts regarding Mobilinkd TNC-2&3 with APRS.FI pertains to using them with Android devices. Hardly anything about using them with ios devices. That is about to change. Let's face it Droid lovers, there are a boatload of iphones and ipads out there. I know. Get over it. -smile- And there is a growing interest from ios users in getting involved with APRS. This app (APRS.fi) has been arguably the goto app for APRS. Now that Mobilinkd has released the TNC-3, iphone owners can enjoy the same experience as 'those other guys.' Hessu at APRS.fi sent me some quick tips to get the various settings right and today I had my first two-way communication! I was/am thrilled!! I have a lot to learn about APRS and now that the ice has broken with my first APRS exchange, I am excited to expand my APRS reach. Two thumbs up! Easy to use..
Would be a nice feature to have. Found the feature was a subscription. Gave it a try today. App didn’t handle switching cell towers well and wouldn’t transmit on IS. Closing the app and opening again fixed it. But can’t be doing that much while driving. App works great when it is “connected”.
Won’t let me send text messages. It will not highlight for me to send messages.
We travel extensively around the country and this app is always reliable. A+++ for sure. KX4U
New user, no experience with APRS. Not familliar with Google groups, can’t even ask a question. Struggling to make it work and no where to turn. Throw it in a drawer and forget it.
This looked like the perfect way to use the new Mobilinkd TNC for iOS. However to send or receive messages you have to pay a subscription. That’s right, after already paying $9.99 for the app they want another monthly or yearly subscription for what is a basic feature of APRS. Without this the Mobilinkd TNC can’t be used to send or receive messages. The screenshots on this app on the store make it appear to have this messaging functionality. You don’t discover the additional subscription until you download. Quite frustrating, it almost seems like false advertising.
