I use iNavX and Aqua Map. One uses raster charts and the other uses vector charts. They are the best of the best (I also have a Garmin dedicated chartplotter). Of the two, Aqua Maps is easier to use, gives more information (especially with the USACE overlays and the Active Captain data), and is less expensive to load up with charts that cover the whole US and Canada.
It has accurate maps, but some instructions do directions on how to use the tools would be helpful.
Active captain, reasonably priced charts with unlimited updates, anchor alarm which I use all the time. This app has it all.
No info for the lake I wanted even After I bought maps through in app purchases
I have an older iPad and figured why shell out a bunch of cash for a Chartplotter. This app works perfect for my small boat, but I can see where is it would be a strong asset for any size vessel. Customer Service is top notch as well. I had 2 minor issues and both were handled quickly and totally professionally Thanks Aquamap Team!!!
After paying for the subscription I immediately realized that the lake I wanted it for is greyed out and you cannot download it. I requested a refund but was declined. I guess you need the money more than me. Sad
Very happy with this app, I cannot wait to get it out on the water! #gunner95 IG: them_morris_boys
While I generally use dedicated chart plotters as the primary means of navigation, I do use this application to double check my primary systems. I also frequently use the application for planning trips using it’s access to active captain. I have a large memory capacity on my Iphone6s, and have 8 gig of charting data stored on the phone. The application seems to manage this large data base without any issues.
Been using for about a year and the more I use it the more I like it. Pretty easy to use, but a lot of capability so there is a bit of a learning curve. Could have a better tutorial, but tech support has always answered my questions. I also use Navionics, Garmin Blue Chart, and Garmin Active Captain and this one is the best overall.
I paid money to download the chart in my area. Every time I go in the app it says “Internet Not Available”. I have plenty of cell signal and also hooked to WiFi. Complete waste of money!!
