Keeps logging me out

I love this app but at least once a week it logs me out and I can’t log back in. Constantly resetting my password. Beyond frustrating

Unreliable app

Love the concept and the recipes. Unfortunately, the app NEVER works. It will never load.

Cooking section

Note: We have a subscription to the New York Times. One fine day several months ago I opened my Recipe Box and discovered that I no longer had access to it. There was no warning, no prior notification that I would now have to pay for the sevice. I was simply locked out. Shame on you, New York Times

This app is wonderful. Disabling comment replies is not.

I really love this app and I use it all the time...On iPhone iPad and Apple Watch. One of the things that makes it so wonderful is the comments or notes made by other users that allow for crowd-sourced improvement on each recipe. You used to be able to reply to someone’s comment or note; that ability has been removed, I don’t know for how long. This makes the community feeling much less and makes the app at least one star less valuable, maybe two. For now, I take away only one, in expectation that there will be some answer given as to why this ability was removed. Thanks again for the great app!

Recipes from the web

4
You can indeed save recipes found elsewhere on the web to the NYT Cooking recipe box (something I’ve been looking for), but the app doesn’t allow you to “file” it into a category. It only shows up in the “all” section. I can see how if I accumulate many recipes, it will be difficult to find the non-NYT Cooking ones.

Search function frustrating and

4
I love the recipe collection and am happy to pay for the subscription. My only complaint is the search function doesn’t auto correct, and won’t bring up recipes containing the basic search term I enter. Seems like the search program is set up like Goldilocks - I have to put in just the right term after a couple of tries in order find what I’m looking for.

The recipes are incredible, the app not so much

1
The recipes are so worth the money but the app is annoying to use. Anytime your phone screen goes into rest mode (dark after x minutes, whatever your setting), or you are in a different app for too long, the app refreshes you back to the main landing page. Which means you have to search for the recipe you are cooking every time you turn away from the phone. Not helpful when you may only have one finger not dirty and just want to see what ingredient goes in next. Also the saving feature is horrible. I wish they would use the same touch/responsiveness options as Pinterest say, where you can hold down on a recipe and a menu of which recipe box to save it in appears. As it is now, the first time you tap on the save button, no matter how long you hold it down, you can’t save it to an individual recipe list, just your general bookmarks. You must then press and hold on the tiny banner for it to then ask you if you want to save it onto a recipe box, then you go through to find which one. Makes creating quick recipe lists really laborious. I love these recipes so much, that’s the only reason I’m begging for some UI changes!

Huge movie ad in a paid app?

1
Seriously? I was swiping down to ingredients and accidentally tapped a giant ad for The Farewell... is this a joke? You are charging us to use the app and you have the balls to start putting advertisements? Seriously?

Nice when it works

3
Usually does, but I’ve also encountered ‘freezing’ now and then. Also, sometimes have to re-enter my email and password. Frustrating when it happens.
