Paying a subscription every year is a rip off just so i can access my saved recipes... thanks but no thanks.
I have hated cooking for a long time, and I definitely require a recipe to do anything that tastes okay or has any flavor. This app has really helped me explore new types of cooking and tons of new recipes. I’ve become a much more confident cook and even look forward to it more now! There are recipes that range from being super simple to much more advanced. So, it’s great for a beginner like me. Plus, I know these recipes will be great. So, it’s waaaaay better than sifting through a million recipes online that I have no idea if they’ll be good or not. Plus, I love just browsing through to get new ideas! Love love love this app
I have a subscript that I paid for last year. Yet somehow neither the app, nor the New York Times can find my account? I haven’t been able to access it in over 10 months. It’s basically a waste of $40.
It goes without saying that I cannot cook without this app. There is so much to love. But! Heaven forbid you not bookmark a recipe you are interested in, you may never find it again. Even if it was a featured recipe! It could take another 10 minutes to find the recipe buried in 100s of recipes. I will happily change to 5 stars when this gets fixed.
Just kidding. But the New York Times cooking app has never steered me wrong and I’ve expanded my confidence and repertoire in the kitchen.
If you’re a NYT subscriber it’s a no brained to use the cooking app. I use it constantly and really appreciate the feedback on recipes, which I provide also. It’s become my go to source for cooking ideas but I still use my cookbooks. An excellent resource for any level of home cook and maybe plenty of Pros.
Very easy to use. Lots of outstanding recipes. Worth the price!
I have so many new, favorite recipes to enjoy, incorporated now in my weekly meal planning. I love that some are so simple and quick and others are worth more time and effort. This past Christmas I made cookie boxes for gifts inspired by Melissa Clark. We have a huge garden every year (in the mid-west) and I can always find new things to cook with our wonderful, organic vegetables. Several years ago I made this NYT cooking app a Mother’s Day gift to myself; it’s perfect. I go through all your emails with recipe suggestions and save new ones often. I believe you have made me a better cook, not just by following recipes, but creating more delicious ones on my own, too. Thank you!
A nice range from the basics to the challenging, saved box for the tried & true (fruit galette in my case), as well as a depth of history that allows me to start with an ingredient or an occasion and discover.
My go to cooking app. Lots of great tips in peoples comments to each recipe. Also nice to see photos of final product. Have not had any issues with it. Finally recipes that work. Postsript - also quality comments of how people have modified the recipes in the user comments. Bonus.
