The RaysWeather.Com Mobile App provides quick and easy access to current weather conditions, forecasts, radars, webcams, and the "Photo of the Day" for all RaysWeather.Com locations. It's the essence of RaysWeather.Com adapted for the iPhones and iPads. The app is easy to use, fast, and reliable. It will quickly become your "go to" weather source when you are "on the go"--accurate weather conditions from nearly 70 weather stations, the best forecasts from our experienced team of meteorologists, zoom-able radar, over 30 live web cams, and the famous "Photo of the Day. The app contains one, small ad at the bottom of the screen. Never a popup or cover-over ad. Providing live weather data from nearly 70 stations and writing forecast (4 forecasters) costs real money. We have to pay for it somehow. RaysWeather.Com is the most widely-read media outlet of any kind in Northwest North Carolina. We cover weather from Grayson County Virginia across the Mountains and Foothills of North Carolina to Hendersonville and Waynesville. Founded in 2000, RaysWeather.Com started as a hobby for Dr. Ray Russell, Computer Science Professor at Appalachian State University. It's now a small business with four meteorologists and offices in Boone NC.
The iPad version of the app is visually scrambled and unusable on iPadOS 13.
While I love the website and their accurate forecasting, the app is terrible. It rarely loads. No matter how many times you force it closed, or delete & reinstall it, it either sits and spins, or finally opens and does nothing but spin, never getting to the information within the site. It’s too bad since their information tends to be spot on. Please fix the app!!
Do you thing it’s time for this app to be updated...4 yrs!
I recommend that everyone get this app, it works really well for me and it actually has ACCURATE weather predictions, unlike every weather forecast.
The app has advertisements and it defaults to Boone even after you set your location. Poorly coded app.
Linvile NC current temperature is always about 15 too warm. What good is a weather app that is so far off with temperature. I contacted them but no response.
Nice App for western NC weather. I use it with UNCA station. Interface is fine and stable.
Instant local WNC weather without a lot of junk you don't need. Quick links to local radar and live webcams. If you go to menu-favorites and select your location - Asheville Airport for instance - and close the app, it will start on that page when you reopen.
The app works great, clear, easy to read, wished the updated time was noted like web site
Kind of annoying how much is missing from this app. No maps. And I have to manually set my location every time I open this app if I didn't let it run in the back ground
