Needs a redesign!

1
This app is extraordinarily frustrating to use. Every time one toggles to another app, and then returns to the Freep app at any time in the future, the app returns to the home page, forcing the reader to hunt for the article he/she was reading. Poorly thought out design and user experience. Learn from those news apps who do it correctly!

Good coverage bad app

2
The Freep is the last vestige of a free press even if it was swallowed by a big chain. But it’s annoying that they keep telling me to subscribe for access to subscriber-only content when I am a subscriber.

Free Press app is great. Live in Texas now read it daily. Thank you for such a great app. Keep up the good work 👍👍 Jon from Round Rock TX

Change in performance over last couple of months

1
When reading an article, if you go off app to research something on internet, you return to top stories instead of the article you are reading. This just started occurring a couple of months ago. This is only a problem on the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News apps and not on other apps. I’m using an iPad Pro running iPadOS 15.1. Pleas fix this frustrating issues which significantly reduces the enjoyment of an otherwise excellent app.

Almost great!

3
I love everything about this app....except for one strange issue. I can go to any sport and get up-to-date news with one exception. When I click on Lions it’s stuck on the news from Nov. 29th. Tate is saying the Lions have to win the rest to make the playoffs. I have deleted the app and reinstalled it, but it still sticks on Nov. 29th. How can this be fixed?

Great app

3
My one criticism is there are too many ads. Other that that it is fantastic!

Leave the app briefly, starts you back at the home page…

3
When using the app, if you leave it, even briefly, it returns to the home page instead of keeping you at the article you are reading. Not great in that aspect.

Limited customization

2
App provides very limited ability to select what content to include in “your” paper. Even then it’s not accurate. Why can’t I customize content by checking sections? Seems simple, yes? Placing ads in the middle of the screen that resemble articles is deceiving and irritating.

Hard to navigate, no integration with print version

1
This is a bad app. Sections are poorly arranged and hard to read. There is no integration with the print version of the Free Press. Disappointing.

No Ability To Adjust Article Refresh

3
Overall, I generally like the app. My only real complaint has to do with the article refresh rate. More accurately, the ability to change it. If you stop reading an article for more than 10 minutes, the app automatically takes you back to a refreshed list of articles. Quite maddening. There is no setting to change this.
