Love the content. But, I signed up with one email at $5.99/mo., and then realized I could sign up through Apple TV and have easier access to content. So, I cancelled the first subscription within the 1 week free trial and signed up again, but they charged $6.99/mo.! There is no clear way to adudicate this rediculous problem, and I get no response from Acorn!
Tried the 7day trail and did not like it so i sent to cancel subskription, it Would not allow me to do so so I signed out and went to sign back in but it said my account wasn’t there and so I tried multiple times to get back in to cancel and it would not allow me even tho I had a account, the proceeded to take 6$ from me!
Buyer beware! I purchased the app thru ITunes App Store but have not been able to watch any videos as I get a message “Sorry, this video is currently not available outside of the U.S. I am in the U.S.! The United States is listed as my Country/Region in the App Store. I have sent numerous emails to Acorn Tv help/support as instructed. I sent a message via messenger on their Facebook page asking for assistance. The only response I’ve got thus far are standard “we will respond to your request” replies. So I’ve DELETED the app. It serves no purpose whatsoever to have it because I can’t watch any videos. They apparently have no customer support to speak of.
Acorn had improved but when I applied the latest update 3 days ago, I now have to remember which season I was watching and go there myself. When will you fix this?!?!?
I subscribed through Apple TV few months ago and things worked well initially, but then started having trouble getting certain shows (e. g. Midsomer Murders) to play without signing into the Acorn App. I tried contacting support to get a password but didn’t hear anything for 2 weeks. It was suggested to delete the app and reinstall- which didn’t work. Finally they blamed the problem on Apple and gave me a free month while I was supposed to get it worked out through Apple. Apple checked it out and said that everything on their end was working properly. I decided it was too much hassle to get the problem fixed and just canceled my subscription.
We love this app so much, we opted for the annual subscription. However, the more we got into a series the worse the navigation got. Nice feature: the app kept tract of the episodes, at first. Bad feature: now that we are into the series, the app does NOT accurately keep tract of our viewing. And if we try to select the correct episode, we get kicked out of the app. Second problem: we subscribed via the google app on our smart tv. We did not set up our account directly in the acorn app. Now, I am trying to view the acorn tv via my iPad, but acorn tv does not recognize my email, so I have no access! So between these two problems, our viewing experience is down the toilet. And yes we have contacted support, but they say the first problem is resolved! Well if that is so, then why did we experience the above problem again just 5 minutes ago? If we can only see the first few episodes of a program, then what is the point of subscribing to what appears to be a wonderful app? If this is not resolved soon, then we will be forced to cancel our annual subscription!
We love this app and all the shows on this app. We tried Brit box but always come back to Acorn Tv app. Love the shows on this app, British shows, Australian shows, excellent shows! Great app too never problems other app freezes up this one doesn’t.
Love the content but the app on an iOS device is very irritating. It runs for 10 to 15 minutes and then crashes. It seems to have gotten worse since June 1 2020. Have had Acorn Tv for a couple of years now and this is the worst I’ve ever seen.
On rocky it works but when trying to use as many have said iOS, I get a weird error message, unavailable except in the US. Well dammit, I am in the US. It is beyond frustrating that in 2020 they still have the same problems from 2018. -0 stars on the app design.
Love the content, but the app is barely usable.
