The app keeps going to closed caption

I didn’t set closed caption, but if you stop an episode then go back it starts closed caption.

Terrific Programs; Decent App

I’m surprised at all the reviews with issues since I’ve had no issues with the app (except for me forgetting the password at one time). We’ve absolutely enjoyed the tremendous number of excellent shows available (Detectorists, Good Karma Hospital, 800 Words, The Heart Doctor, A Place to Call Home have been some of my favorite shows of all time). We’re planning to drop our cable TV subscription since there are several streaming apps that provide us with enough high quality entertainment for a long time, and AcornTV is our favorite.

Bugs, Issues, Bad Support

Having to list issues is a red flag. 1. There are two apps. One is for the Apple TV and another is not. Not knowing this, you might purchase the wrong one or both. 2. When trying to reset a password, an email will be sent. That email will have a button to rest your password. Clicking on it opens the app. And it seemingly does nothing. Apparently, it (not obviously) logs you in. And there is a link in the app you may find to change your password. But, none of this is clear. 3. When asking support for help on resetting a password. They might give you the wrong advice. My ticket showed that I was on iOS, but their response was a solution for Google Play. The single star is required to submit a review. This is unfortunate. While the app(s) and support don’t deserve much praise, the content is good. Please improve these apps.

Just ok. Average shows. Broken features.

Worth having just about. Decent interface. Not enough great shows. The CC will always force itself on no matter what every time. That’s annoying. The continue watching from is never accurate.

Slower than dead people

Why on earth should we have to spend several minutes every time we open the app waiting for the black boxes with the words Acorntv that constitute your menu to populate with actual information? It happens on iPhone, iPad and appletv. There’s no excuse for being this slow and clunky. If you have to, use lower resolution images or something because this problem has gone on way too long and is about to cost you a subscriber.

I just signed up and paid on my ipad. I get an "unknown error" message for every program.

No problems

I use this app on my iPhone and iPad and have had zero problems. This is a great app.

Stops for now reason

This is one of the worst video apps I have used. I will be watching a show and for no reason it just stops working and buffers. Not for a little time for for 10 plus minutes. For no apparent reason. If it were not for one show I would not bother with it at all. Piece of crap

Don't bother

This app is friggin' worthless. Basically they don't support Apple TV so don't bother to download it. If you want to watch Acorn, watch it on a Roku. And clearly they have the worst programmers on the planet because if you set up an Acorn account on a Roku, the Apple TV app doesn't know your account with Acorn exists. I guess they never considered that anyone might have more than one brand of streaming device in their home. Really poor programming on the part of Acorn.
