Completely lost in why I upgraded Very little info on how to use No way to reset to start from scratch Four short Useless information videos on YouTube
Bought this app in the past, now it’s a subscription. You’ve alienated your existing user base and failed to gracefully grandfather us into your new business model. The taste before you buy feature is not useful, it’s lame. Everything is a subscription now. We’ve reached a tipping point.
Even with a subscription? The web app does not work well with iPad and in any event is not nearly as convenient as a native app. That will hold true even after iPadOS. Please take some of the subscription revenue and produce a proper iPad app.
Can no longer use the app unless you sign up for a trial. Can’t even use their website anymore without subscribing. With ZERO warning. They’ve changed the rules after the fact, and I would not trust them in the future now either. My data is now held hostage by them unless I subscribe. I don’t care if there is a free trial to start that you have to make sure to cancel before renewal - shameful business practices shown again and again.
Garbage at it’s finest. Thanks for destroying a really good app with a surprise gotcha subscription I’m not going to pay you an additional $100 bucks a year “subscription” that adds & does NOTHING on an app I’ve been using and already paid for. When you sell something you don’t get to come back a year later, shut the app down remotely and demand more money to keep using it. But I guess you do at Tim Cook’s Apple. I doubt Steve Jobs would have supported these people, but, this is the new apple under Cook after all.
I used to use this app during college all the time to help organize and prioritize my time. At the time, for free, I was able to create timers and list them under certain projects so that on the report they’d all come under one category. So I’d have timers for my different classes and then I can see how much time I spent for school, or I’d have timers for time spent on Netflix, YouTube, Games, and then get a report for how much time I spent on entertainment. Now I’ve reinstalled and found out they’ve changed to a subscription model and while I was more than happy to give a 20 for a year of productivity, I find out that they’ve also taken out this feature. I don’t understand why they would start charging way more than the other time tracking apps while also taking away features that they used to have.
So, I used this app as a trial for over a year and enjoyed it. Then decided to purchase the app and since then and the last update, I’ve had continuous glitching. Nothing unresolvable but just straight up annoying. That said, it used to be a good app, now I’d call it fair or marginal at best. Try something else first.
Was worried I lost all my data but signed up for the Personal-“Free Taste” account (or whatever the hell they call it) and my data appears to be all there. So I’ll bump this from 1 star to 2 stars. They could have managed this better.
Suddenly you can’t use the app anymore without logging into an account. I didn’t have an account and don’t want one. This shouldn’t be allowed to be marked as a “free app with in-app purchases” if you literally can’t use it without purchasing anything. And don’t tell me the account is free, because there’s no bozo-level which costs nothing — there’s only a 30 day free trial. This is complete garbage too because if I only use the app on one device, no infrastructure or services are needed on their end for syncing (i.e. because I’m not syncing anything). I used to have a fully functioning piece of software on my phone, which wasn’t synced with anything and which therefore did not require any account— now I don’t have access to any of my timers or past information or anything. This is really garbage, highway robbery at its finest. Thanks for destroying my perfectly good app with your unnecessary update, and thanks for robbing me of access to a bunch of my personal data which i spent hours creating (pun intended). Seriously though the people who pushed out that upgrade that forces users to have an account— terrible people.
asks you to pay a monthly fee as soon as you try to sign up, both professional and personal versions ask for money :/
