Impressive.

I really enjoy the amount of control it gives you in the settings on just about every feature of your listening experience. I like that you can limit certain podcasts to only a few unplayed episodes saved while putting your favorites to extreme numbers. My only complaint is that I'd like a better search feature or a better system for getting into new podcasts that are relevant to your interests.

I really like this app

I listen to a lot of podcasts; I currently subscribe to over 80. I'm constantly looking into new podcast apps, because I haven't found one that completely meets my needs. So I was very impressed by the 1.0 version of Overcast. It was easy for me to import my entire library (the app has explicit instructions for importing from other podcast apps). Navigation was intuitive, and the sorting options meet my needs. The most impressive features are the playback controls. Smart Speed and Voice Boost are very impressive. If you like podcasts, pay the $5 and try it for yourself.

Buggy and Potential Censorship

I’ve used Overcast for probably 10 years. Over the past couple years, it’s gotten very buggy for me. Every once in a while, it also seems like I can’t find a podcast via search that is popular but political and not left/progressive/mainstream in nature — not strong evidence of anything, but the social media accounts of the creator seem to suggest an openness to anti-free speech views at times.
