The way podcasts should be! Like Apple Podcasts, there is no “exclusively on Spotify” non-open podcasts. This is compatible with every open podcast you listen to!
The latest version is driving me crazy. I primarily use the app through my Apple Watch and the new streaming "feature" makes it almost unusable. Previously, you could send a podcast to the watch and it would be available for offline listening. Now, when you do that, it seems to default to streaming without any way to force a download. I have a watch with a cellular connection, but it doesn't work well in my neighborhood. When I do play a podcast through streaming, my watch battery tanks and I'm usually left with a dead watch before I can finish my hour long walk, even if I started with a nearly full battery. On the watch app, you can see two lists for podcasts - on my phone or on my watch. The functionality that would make sense to me is for podcasts that I deliberately sent to my watch to actually be stored on my watch and for ones on my phone to be available for streaming if the phone is not with me. I don't need that option, though. Streaming the phone podcasts is a nice to have feature, but I really just want to be able to listen to the podcasts I prioritized for the watch without killing the watch itself. I am seriously checking for an update daily to see if they've adjusted the watch app, as the only complaints I see in the reviews are for the new watch functionality.
Latest version changed watch sync behavior to use WiFi when charging instead of Bluetooth in background. Now half of the podcasts on my watch fail to play, even though they lack the cloud icon and should be transferred. I’ll change the rating once this is fixed, but I’m disappointed the change wasn’t rolled back when the developer was made aware of the bugs.
Far better than other podcast apps I’ve tried.
I like the “play next” option, but then I need to reorder once I have selected a podcast. Can we get an “append” option so that it can be added to list and not inserted after the playing?
Great app! I can’t think of anything it doesn’t do. I love how it allow removal of empty spaces and adjusting speed. Highly recommended!
Overall a great podcast app with useful features, the cost of premium is worth it. I really enjoy the Smart Speed playback option which shortens the silence. Only complaint, which seems to have come with the latest version, is that while listening to podcast the audio seems to stutter and cuts off while switching apps. Hopefully this is a bug the developer is aware of and will be addressed in future updates.
Great app, great UI, great features and settings customizability. Get it! Trust me.
These stories and exercises really help my kids calm down. She’s really great.
I’ve loved and had frustrations with this for four years now, but it’s still solid. I finally found out where Shortcuts buries some automation stuff, so now I’m pretty happy I’ll be getting my news after my alarm ends. Please still give us more font options and sizes. UwU
