App quits too frequently. Pitifully small selection of docs.
All, beware. I signed up for 7 day trial and was charged by them via apple same day. The odd thing is I cancelled within first hour of signing up. I also opened a support case 3 hours after signing up with sundancenow telling that I cancelled and asking why charge ? zero response- Sundance and apple are at fault. Sundance charged for free trial service is misleading Apple processing a false charge and taking zero responsibility is bad for Cust sat on the Apple TV services.
I have loved it when it actually loads. It seems to work better when I’m not hooked to WiFi. But I don’t want to spend all my data when WiFi is available.
So sad that tech support is unhelpful and it’s impossible to load on my new smart tv. I have reached out several times yet responses are not helpful at all. I can only view on my iPad. Canceling is not easy going through iTunes either. So I’m paying for no service. Content of movies/original series is great....only if you could watch. I wouldn’t even give this half a star but that’s not an option.
The absolute WORST! I downloaded the app because I wanted to watch a series unavailable anywhere else and every episode cuts to the next episode before the last has had opportunity to end. I’m so glad I’ve read the books-otherwise it would be incredibly confusing and hard to follow.

I am a former subscriber, restarted my subscription and paid through the App Store. I have logged in with my Roku, Apple TV and iPad but can’t get it to work. After I sign in, it loads my watchlist, but when I choose play to watch something it kicks me out to a nag screen and asks me to sign up. I’ve removed the app, restarted and waited a day for the payment to process but it still hasn’t, and didn’t post to my bank account. I don’t know if that’s an issue with Sundance or the App Store, but I’ve made other purchases that worked okay. I canceled the subscription to Sundance but was supposed to receive service for a month. It’s not worth keeping, so I’m not missing much anyway.
I love Sundance & would watch the channel back in the day when I had TV. Now, I stream it through my iPad. I suppose I’m spoiled by Netflix & even HBO Go cuz Sundance app isn’t all that. If you pause a movie & come back to it the next day, the app doesn’t remember that you were watching it. There’s also no personalization, no Favorites list. Nothing fancy. It’s worth slogging through it though. Found some more films of interest.
first time i used it, it worked fine. the second time, i was able to cast one ep of a show and then it wouldn’t cast to my tv at all. it would keep trying and then time out. i deleted the app, re downloaded it, restarted my phone and still nothing.
The content is superb but I was asked to write a review of the app. Most apps have saved bookmarks, i.e. where one is in watching the show, and this doesn’t, nor does it save recently watched videos. Come on, Sundance, catch up or exceed other apps, especially with all of us paying y’all.
