I downloaded this app a while ago to help me process my divorce and stay positive. The messages are helpful and affirming 95% of the time but every once in a while a message pops up that is really random and sometimes kind of triggering. For example, I just got one that said “I am excited about my pregnancy”. I am not pregnant and frankly, my infertility issues have been a source of grief for me for a long time. So that affirmation definitely felt like a gut punch. Another one that came up a while ago, right when I was moving out of my and my husband’s home was “we are happy and in love.” I was like, whaaat? No we aren’t. Ouch. There are also quite a few messages that assume someone is employed, which definitely isn’t a given. I bet a lot of people who lost their jobs or who are struggling to find work would benefit from this app, but those messages that assume someone is working aren’t helpful in those cases. Lastly, this app assumes that the person using it is able bodied, which I don’t think it should. I am not in a wheelchair personally but the day that the message popped up that said “I am grateful that I can walk” (or something like that) my first thought was that it would be a hurtful thing for a disabled person who is using this app to see. I think there is a simple fix for these issues that will help the app be more effective and avoid inadvertently hurting or offending people. Just add a short questionnaire to the set up process to ask people things like “are you in a romantic relationship/married?” “Are you disabled?” “Are you employed?” Then based on the responses, you can filter out certain messages that are not applicable or appropriate for that person. Other than that, I think this app is really nice but there is definitely room for improvement.
I love this app, it’s been very very encouraging and helpful since the day I downloaded it. I love being able to set certain timeframes for different alerts & also that I can make a mix of all the things I prefer to see! But my one piece of advice and personal suggestion would be to have some more information on all the different definitions and some how givethe true purpose of the app.. cause I only seem to like it for the “affirmations” & I quote “inspiring quotes” or “motives” .... but I don’t have a full understanding of what I’m doing on the app. This is all new to me. But I’m trying to be more positive and believe in my self more , like have more self confidence. Which I do feel this app fulfills... but I feel like I need a better understanding of the entire thing as a whole, to be able to get the internal concept of using this app.
This is wonderful, I feel like the Lord is sending me messages every time.
A friend introduced me to this and I’m thankful for it. I stay in focus and operating on a high frequency
So I started using this app around a month ago. When I first got it I was super surprised at how easy it was to just integrate with my iPhone wallpaper. You can choose how many times a day you’d like your quote to notify a day and I chose 5 (I really need that positive mindset reminder 😅) and 5 times all spread out through the day I am notified seeing an amazing quote that really does uplift me.
I became so much more happier since having this app, even when I don’t feel fully to read the affirmations just looking at them when the notifications come in, has already done so much for me. Thank you to the creators of this app!
Also getting premium won’t remove ads. The affirmations are good tho
20 dollars a month for notifications? 💀 doesn’t even advertise that it costs money on the app page.
I am clinically depressed and I have gotten more comfort from this app than my meds and therapy
I like the positve affirmations! It help and it reminds me to think more positvie
