New update

I can’t download workouts to my Apple Watch anymore. That was the best part of this app for me.

Terrible update

Stay away-they changed the app so it no longer supports watch runs without phone on and they pulled the music so forget anything that says beat based or has a music theme.

Recent music update ruins it

Some of the trainers like Ackerman were not just great because of their class but because their music was amazing. The recent update removes many of the original playlists and replaces it with bland bland top 40. where’s the dancehall? where’s the latin? not everyone likes top 40. What’s worse is that even for the old favorites they remove the type of music so you have to sort through everything to find the genre you want. At least offer a “no music” option so we can play something that isn’t for a midwest white boy.

Recent update is demotivating

The recent update (March 2021) has taken away the music that went with the workouts and now plays random tracks underneath the instructor’s directions. In the previous version of the app, instructors often used the music as motivation, timing intervals or sprints with the drop in the music. I do not know what Aaptiv’s goal was in changing this format, but it is not helping me achieve my goals now. I cannot even finish a workout because it’s so frustrating. Please consider changing it back or updating again to allow instructors to choose the music they are planning for.

Need better update

Updated app 2 days ago. They took away workouts and didn’t note it. Also I cannot access my saved workouts. The app crashes whenever I go to see them. I also can’t download a workout and run anymore. the app just turns off. Please update.

Music changes

I loved this app and used it everyday even with sleep and workouts. They changed it to force you to pick a music category instead of listening to how it was originally recorded and the workouts are horrible. Will be looking for alternatives unfortunately. Wish they would of had “original” as a music option too!

Used to be great...

I am terribly disappointed that I can no longer download workouts to my watch so that I have a guided running workout without my phone. This was the functionality that I found valuable and why I pay for the app. With the ability to download workouts to my watch, I do not see any reason to use this app over the many workout apps available.

Apple Watch integration

I loved this app for last 2 years because of Apple Watch integration and I did not need to take my phone on outdoor runs. Now that is gone and I can’t get workouts on watch so I will move to something else

Music “upgrade” lowers quality of the workouts and app

You can now select from an array of music genres for any workout. This may be a feature to add flexibility, however the workouts often feel disjointed when they don’t match the music. For some workouts you can select the “original playlist curated by the trainer”, but this isn’t available for all workouts (even some that have been around a long time...I can buy into the case that newer added workouts wouldn’t have a curated playlist). Akeem, for example, references his music often throughout his workouts. That’s awesome and felt very meaningful. Now it’s a mess. All of this also means you can’t predict what songs will play during a workout, only the genre. Yuck! Over the years, I save workouts solely because they have a playlist that never makes me feel yucky. And the worst for me, personally, is that several of my favorite workouts no longer have their original playlists available. I feel totally disrupted and will probably seek another app. So, if you’re if the camp that the music really makes a workout, the recent music update in this app may not work for you.
