I have been using 8 fit’s workouts for a few years and love them! I don’t need any of their other features. Why suddenly do I have to pay to access new workouts? 😭🤬 And not just pay, but pay $25/mo or $80/yr. Forget it. I love these workouts but that is WAY too much.
I have trouble motivating myself to workout and to stretch, this app helps me do both. Simple but effective workouts for whatever skill level you are. My only complaint is that it is unnecessarily expensive.
Any of these work outs you can get on YouTube, and the free ones they offer to you are only 2-8 min long, while the Pro ones are 20-30+ min long, ACTUAL workout length. And the rest of the app is under lockdown, such as meal planning, logging of meals or different activities, recipes, etc. Waste of time. Nobody will read this review bc Apple only pushes the most positive reviews to the top so, I'm preaching to the choir, but if you're reading this, it's bunk, unless you want to pay $25 a MONTH for a plain chicken salad recipe.
So I will update this review to 5 stars if they address one glaring flaw. I am really into working out in THEORY but never seem able to commit to it in my day. I am ADHD and get scatterbrained easily, so I thought if I set reminders according to the routine I want to commit to, it would be a huge assist. Because I’m terribly forgetful and my mind is disorganized! No matter how much I organize lists and calendars, if I forget to look at them, that work was for nothing. So with an app like 8fit that does SO MUCH for you, it only makes sense that you would be able to set long term reminders. Bc right now, if I miss one workout, I also miss my reminder to do the following one. Then I’m going to feel guilt and disappointment for screwing up as opposed to a more healthy “oh well I’ll catch the next one and do my best!” Also, it causes me to make decisions CHRONICALLY rather than in one moment. That is THE WORST thing you can do to an ADHD person! Let me make decisions on a day when my mind is clear, not every time I turn around. Please let us access the calendar feature you already have and allow us to put in multiple reminders for workouts so we can feel encouraged and motivated, and like this little app is our sidekick so we don’t have to go it alone!!! 😄😄😄
My email was compromised. Pressed reset button to have password reset. Received notice that a link would be sent to my email. Days later after attempting several times no link has been received. Therefore still unable to access app. Guess someone is enjoying the app at my expense
I loved 8fit up until the point when now you have to buy the prescription to do anything. It used to be that I could do all of my workouts for free but one day I went to workout and realized I had to pay to work out.
I like this app! Please give your UX team a raise! It is beautiful and very easy to use. I love that it includes mental and physical health!!! The recipes look yummy but I selected vegetarian options and they kept giving me recipes with meat lol. Overall I think this is excellent for people new to exercising and/or meal planning. It provides a balance of structure and flexibility.
It is my first day but the app is awsome
8fit is truly amazingI have been looking for a a long time for a health and fitness app that kept a balanced, holistic view of health, and this is it! I love that the meal plan is full of DELICIOUS recipes that keep me full all day. The recipes alone are worth the price of a subscription, they are so yummy and easy! And I really appreciate that the workout program starts at a truly beginning level! This is a tool that will equip you to reach your health goals, whatever those may be! Completely recommend :)
Like most other recent reviewers, I have been a long time user - up until now. Common app model with the basic workouts free and enhanced nutrition and planning mechanics in the upgrade plan for those that need them. Usual pop-ups and weekly invitations to join the Pro program, which while slightly annoying were par for the course with this type of model. Unlike most other workout apps, there is a coherent weekly/unit plan stressing different energy systems and this is a clear two steps up on most of the random collections of workouts that pass for a fitness app. Not perfect and some mistakes remained even after reporting (90 sec max sprints for raw beginners) but still better than most other apps. Now in the middle of the 2020 health crisis they decide to replace the existing system with a full subscriber model to the $25/mo plan or blindly cough up $80 for a year. My gym membership is $25 a month and offers far more than this app ever can. Of course, it was just forced to close again and I do not think the timing is coincidental with the change in financial model. You can call that view cynical, but it is not possible this was not thoroughly discussed. The normal model would be to invite users to try for free as the New Year rolls in and resolve is high, then shift to a pay model once committed. The $25 per month is ludicrous. No one is going to pay it and begrudgingly opt for the full year instead. Surely that was always the intent. Mine is to delete the app after I submit this.
