Been using this for several years but it has started to have numerous issues. If you navigate away to another site it usually has to be reloaded to use it. It recently just closed as I was scrolling through a story. Not very stable anymore. I use it on an updated newer iPad. Please fix it!!!
Love having the “paper” on an app. I read every day even when I travel. Unfortunately the app just isn’t great. Glitches. Lately every time my phone locks and I go back to app it reloads. iPad app is better.
I love this app—I’ve used it to read the ABJ for several years now. I especially like that it looks just like the newspaper. HOWEVER, in the past few weeks the breaking news feed button has dimmed, so that option is no longer available on my app! I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app. PLEASE HELP!
This app stinks. This use to be my go to app every night to read the news but when they changed it they ruined it. If you want to read the current news look elsewhere.
When I DO have internet connection! Opens to past edition.
After install, I am stuck in an endless loop of messages to update, selection of type of content, select edition. . . Then bsck to prompt to update app,which is already done, etc. Restarted and still no way to get the e edition. My next two alternatives in order are uninstall and reinstall the app, then cancel my subscription.
Settings don't remember your settings and takes a lifetime to load. Best to use browser.
Never received e-mail with instructions to activate app - don't waste your time with this one
I love the Akron Beacon Journal and reading it digitally is wonderful... when it works. All too often it won't open the digital edition, there is no "contact us" to report or resolve problems, there seem to be a too many bugs that causes the app to spontaneously close. I was once told by someone at customer service (yes, I used a phone and called someone) to delete the app and reload it. So I did. Then I tried to log on. Nope, nothing I did allowed me to sign in. Nothing. Tried half a dozen times before giving up and venting my frustration by writing this review. Please ABJ, resolve some of these bugs. I am a long time subscriber and want my digital edition to pop up on demand, I don't want to jump through a dozen hoops or retry multiple times to read the news. Nuance this app and make it work properly all the time, for all of us.
You would be better off with the print version!
