I used LogTen for several years, but recently stopped as they had sync issues between Mac OS and iOS. Sync would suddenly stop and could not be reactivated. After 20+ emails over a month to their tech support I eventually gave up and switched to ForeFlight’s Log book which at this point is good enough for General Aviation.
I like this logbook a lot better than ForeFlight. It is easy to use and a lot quicker to add entries into from a paper logbook than foreflight. The yearly subscription price seems pretty high in my opinion. I am a flight instructor and if I plan to use this app for the next 30 years, it will cost $3,000 for a logbook. Seems pretty steep.
As a professional pilot (Part 121) who cares about (and needs) accurate logging of flight times, as well as various duty times, having a logbook I can completely tailor exactly to my needs is important. I’ve tried numerous logbooks, both paid and free, and I think this is the best logbook solution available. I’ve also found being able to custom track various categories/combos of times has made keeping applications updated super easy. I pay the annual fee, which does make this (I think) the most expensive logbook software. You get what you pay for. For something that I use so often, and for so many important reasons, I consider the cost worthwhile. As long as the quality remains where it is, as long as updates continue happening, its worth the cost.
For a company to not have a customer service phone number is unacceptable. I needed a quick response and I finally received an email 18 hours later. Unacceptable
I have been using this logbook for almost 5+ years and life is so much easier with this. Long gone is the paper book.
I was unaware I had to save to the cloud. Flights are only saved on the device. Flights are not saved on your login within the app. It was a bummer when my IPhone wiped itself for incorrect passcode attempts and I didn’t have a backup, and I lost all the data. Unable to be recovered. Hello, APDL.
Hi, great app the only problem I have is it randomly deleted all my files, I’ve had it for a year and I go to get on and everything was gone, glad I kept records in a handwritten log book
It’s taken me a few years to write this review, but somehow inadvertently opened the app I’ve had for years, and realized again how upset I am about the changes. I purchased the app a number of years ago for a “one time fee” of something I considered ridiculous at the time (I believe it was $89 or $109) but I decided to give it a try. It wasn’t a spectacular app, but worked for what I needed. I continued to use it, until after one update they wouldn’t let me back in saying it required the even more ridiculous monthly cost of over $100/year. Well great. Now I can’t even print off my new pages to update the logbook for a major airline review. Fortunately I had a version on an old phone I hadn’t updated yet, and was able to use that version to print off the months of flying I had done that I needed to print off for an interview. No heads up, nothing. If I didn’t have that non-updated phone, those hundreds of hours would have been lost unless I payed the fee. When I purchased he app initially, I was told it was a one time fee. Then - oh - let’s make more money and lock them out unless a yearly fee is paid. There should have been a grandfather right for the ones that purchased it during the one time fee purchase. I now fly for a legacy and certainly don’t pay for the subscription. Shame on Coradine for taking advantage of instructors and students like this. $20/year? Maybe. But your prices are absurd for the occasional facelift. The app functions the same as it always has.
Great product and easy to use. My only complaint is that it’s a VERY expensive to use
The refresh rate is to slow and unpredictable between iPhone and laptop.
