Believe me, if you're a user that is always switching between Mac,Windows,iPhone, android, the only solution that you can keep your files unified, is ONE DRIVE ! Thank you Microsoft
OneDrive is absolute garbage since they moved all their stuff to some hidden "group container" nonsense. The consequences are: 1) Non-standard use of "delete". A file that is deleted does not go to the MacOS Trash, instead it gets unreversibly erased. THIS IS JUST INCORRECT BEHAVIOR. 2) Files that are on my computer (I mirror) give "The file doesn't exist" error even though it is there, was created locally, etc. AGAIN: JUST INCORRECT BEHAVIOR. 3) Files that are in the local folder take substantial time to move to another folder (e.g., from OneDrive to the Desktop) with a message "preparing to move". Preparing to move what? It is a 1 kB file, it is local, why does it need to be prepared? AGAIN: JUST INCORRECT BEHAVIOR. Comparing this software to similar from other companies... well, the others don't have so many errors. If it weren't that my company chose to buy this garbage I would not use it.
[Update 2023]: App still keeps notifiying me to review it. Truly annoying. True for all MSFT apps. Otherwise this would be a 4 or 5 stars review. Hoping the one star review would catch someone's eye at MSFT. But this constant nagging finally led me to write this review.
Nothing but trouble for someone that struggles with technology. Lost documents?
I enjoy using OneDrive on the web, but it is a total nightmare on my Mac. This app is buggy, hard to use, for some reason is only usable as a menu bar icon, and is constantly hitting errors. Every tiem I try to use it again, I am reminded why I never use it consistently. I unfortunately have to use this for work - but I would rather use any other storage solution. As is - it is buggy, my app constatnly crashes, and I've had to log in once per day due to the sheer number of crashes happening. It is a mess, and I don't understand how MICROSOFT of all companies can't figure this out when all of my apps currently run by Ukranian developers (a country currently in the middle of a war) have my apps running smoothly with regular updates. I want to love this app. I really do. I want to not also pay for iCloud and Google Drive just to make my required work solution more bearable. Please fix this app. I don't know if it's the new MacOS, Apple Silicon, or if this app has always just been this bad. This is the hub of the whole "Office" idea. How can I possibly get work done with your tools, if I can't even find it in all of the apps because my OneDrive won't sync?
Not sure if there is a bug with MacBook or with Microsoft OneDrive itself, but last Sunday my classmate's entire folder in a Shared "teams" folder for our course got deleted and it was shown that it was by me (my name) under the audit log/activity log. I wonder if someone had hacked into my account or signed into the same computer I was using and it somehow doesn't log me out of OneDrive browser. It has happened a 2nd time in the past few days, weeks apart and I'm finally going into IT department within my university to get this checked out
OneDrive should be working perfectly by now but for somehow I often times receive error notifications while saving a blank office document in onedrive. I have a new macbook and a very good and stable internet connection. My software is also always up to date.. I thought I'd rather move from iCloud to Onedrive since I love the version history and collaboration benefits but this is a show stopper.
For what it is it works well, however it is quite annoying that I cannot remove the Onedrive Icon from the menu bar without quitting Onedrive, I need my menu bar at the top to be free of onedrive, but with no option to disable/remove the icon from there some of my other more important icons disappear until i quit onedrive or another program that hogs up the space up there. Please Fix this thanks.
I hate your nag screen. The product is mostly fine without that, except for some syncing issues with the iphone and the other devices. It's good enough, but you only get one star because you're always nagging people for reviews.
Syncing problems at its best and Auto-locked mess
