The AccessMedicine App from McGraw-Hill Medical delivers indispensable support and invaluable point of care solutions for clinical practice through these mobile features: •Quick Medical Dx & Tx is a collection of concise evidence-based outlines of conditions and disorders most often encountered in medical practice – perfect for high-yield review or for quick reference in the clinical setting. •Fitzpatrick’s Color Atlas of Clinical Dermatology facilitates dermatologic diagnosis by providing color images of skin lesions, plus a summary outline of skin disorders and diseases. •Differential Diagnosis Tool provides more than 1,000 diagnoses through Diagnosaurus®, a McGraw-Hill Medical tool that efficiently allows you to browse by symptom, disease, or organ system at the point of care. •Diagnostic Tests, from Pocket Guide to Diagnostic Tests, is a quick reference guide to the selection and interpretation of commonly used diagnostic tests, including laboratory procedures in the clinical setting. Note: The AccessMedicine App is available to users at institutions with a full site license. To activate and for continued access to the app, the user must have an active My Access account through AccessMedicine and sign in every 90 days through your institution, either on-site or through a VPN. Your My Access account user name and password will activate this app. Powered by: Unbound Medicine
...which is what I wanted out of installing this. I'm sure it's good for something down the road, but as an M1, I just needed the books without clicking to expand things a zillion times. Not happening here.
Don’t get me wrong, I love this app. I just wish it gave us access to all the website features
My access doesn't seem to give me full access to all the books that I have access to from laptop account. The only books/resources that seem to be avail for searching are the 4 listed on the app info. To be fair they are listed, but that seems deceptive to not have access to all the resources that the website generally provides. It won't sync my favorites from my laptop account to the app so I have to click on the link on the main page to get to the page that looks like the one on the laptop.
Fantastic resource window with a clean interface and excellent search and cross referencing. Had one issue in the beginning where it insisted my institutional access needed to be updated (wasn't true), but I reinstalled and resigned in and it's been fine since.
It keeps asking me to sign in each time I change chapters. Otherwise it is good. It will be even better if the flash card is made accessible directly in the app.
Awesome app for those in the clinical setting MD, NP, PA.. But the very 90 days authentication per your institution can get a little annoying. Only b/c it takes more then the listed 24 hours re-authorization. You can't access the app during that time.. Sometimes I've had to re-download the app.
Customer support has been sluggish. In app FAQ or better instructions would be helpful
As a PA student this is very useful app for clinical rotations. Access Medicine helps for anyone preparing for their PANCE.
This app functions solely for the purpose of putting 4 references onto one platform. You can search topics through apps like diagnosaurus, fitzpatrick's clinical derm, pocket guide to diagnostic tests and quick medical diagnosis and treatment. Great in that sense, not good for the purpose I tend to use accessmedicine for; using my institutions subscription to read ebooks. Shame because that would be a great use on a mobile platform.
