Was my favorite golf app until they made you pay a monthly subscription to be able to input your scores from your watch.
The automatic scoring was ok as an extra on hole 19 and I used for 2 years I think. I understand you need to make money, but, I don’t want a whole bunch of complicated add on things. I don’t want to share with friends or measure my shots, or any of the other extras that come with the premium. I just want to simply look down on my apple watch and see how far to the hole. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be an app that does this. Hole 19 does seem to function well once you learn how to turn off the phone and work off the watch so you aren’t using up battery and data.
The new update now requires paying for a monthly premium plan in order to watch score. I liked the app prior to this update but will be looking for a new app to use this year.
Sorry, not buying another subscription. I just want to use my watch to see distance and record score. Now you need a subscription to record scores on the watch. I’m fine seeing an add or two. Buh bye.
Subscribe premium lite but the app is full of ads and not much value or features became available. Absolutely wasting time.
This is the last phone app I will try, done! thank you though, all the apps I tried will drive you nuts..... complicated setup and too many features, ads ads ads, go premium! app goes to sleep with phone, start over. If you can afford golf clubs you can afford a real golf range finder device Good phone app idea that simply hasn’t panned out unless you only golf a few times a year but then why do you need one in the first place?
I loved this app until they took away free wrist scoring and made it a pay for feature. Now I’ll look for a new app.
The app was solid for years and then they decided to remove score keeping from the Apple Watch in an attempt to get you to sign up for their pay per month features. Such a joke. There are plenty of other apps out there that allow you do that for free. I’d stay far away from this attempt of a money grab.
This was my go to apple on the course until the Apple Watch features became premium. Deleted.
I paid for the connection between my iPhone and my Apple Watch. I don’t recommend it. The iPhone battery usually dies before the round is over. Nice while it’s working. I’m canceling the link. I’ve also noticed some discrepancies in the yardage reported. Yesterday on Pinehurst #4 it showed 144 yards to the green when it actually was closer to 180-90. Doesn’t happen a lot but I don’t entirely trust it so I use my range finder when I am in doubt. On the positive side it’s a very intuitive interface. Easy to record your score and basic performance data. Easy to recall and good data aggregation and presentation. Haven’t used the premium service except for the Apple Watch connection. All in all a good app to use on an iPhone.
