I pay my children allowance weekly based on the tasks they complete. It became difficult to keep up, but after using this app, it’s helped me organize and made my children become more accountable.
I love everything about this app except that I wish there was a way to have certain chores rotate to a different kid each week. I love that you can set different goals and spend/save/give categories. Love that this gives the child the responsibility of making things as done! Definitely is helping my kids become more self reliant!
A godsend, really. So helpful with our mule-headed 12 yr old. Would like a more intuitive interface. When I open it to check off chores, it seems busy and takes some scanning to know where to go. Also, would be nice to be able to connect it to a prepaid Visa card.
This is a simple way to keep track of your kids allowance without having credit cards or fees. It doesn’t require a chores chart. The interface is simple and I like that I can make notes on what additions or subtractions are for.
I have 4 kids between the ages of 11 and 6. Keeping track of their money has always been a chore. They will pull out their money, count it, and not put it back. Always getting lost. I have tried lots of kid digital piggy banks and this one is by far my favorite. It is easy to use and, to be honest, with a simple name like Rooster, my kids remember to “put their money in their Rooster” or “how much money is in my Rooster”. I have had this for over a year and use it constantly. In fact, the tooth fairy just visited my 6 year old, she handed me her $1 and asked me to put it in her Rooster.
Rooster makes managing my kids’ allowance and what they spend so easy to manage!
1. Helps assign chores and track completion for all of my children in one place electronically 2. They can easily use the app on their devices and submit when they’re done with chores. I can ask for pictures as proof too. 3. I don’t have to have cash, nor do I put any account info into the app. 4. “Extra earners” get my kids helping around the house for little to no effort on my end. 5. Going to the store is a breeze because all I have to say is, “do you have money in your rooster account?” And if the answer is no, they don’t even ask. If the answer is yes, they’re budgeting what they want to spend based on the account balance. 5. Goal setting for their own big ticket items!
Perfect except it needs a multiple repeat option for items like dishes that might need to be done more than once per day. I thought “anytime” was this but no, it’s a non-repeating designation.
I was always forgetting if and when allowance was due- Rooster money helped make it easy to track.
