I have been using this for a long time and it’s my go to calendar app. I have it on my mac too.
Since the update, this app is garbage. Don’t waste your time downloading it.
The app icon on the “Current Date” setting needs to be fixed. Unlike Fantastical 2, it no longer updates the date in the icon’s badge automatically/correctly even after the app is opened then closed.
even the fake 5 star reviews can’t keep this app ranked above 200 the design still waste a ton of space- even after the 6 attempts to fix the dumpster fire oh- and the subscription thing- neg
They refuse to answer any emails. Until they start helping customers stay away.
this company has a history of ripping off its customers but since they made a good product which is a good calendar I didn’t mind to pay them as they were going to upgrade constantly this app so I bought the apps for the Mac and for the iPad and for the iPhone and I was happy to pay them the upgrade fee but since they went for a subscription model and took away options that we had in version 2 which includes watch complications not working in sync with the app and it doesn’t show reminders and events in the same timeline on the watch complication even though I registered with my Apple ID with fantastical so do yourself a favor don’t buy this app and please update your one star rating for each version that they come out because we have to bring down the ratings for this app for what they’ve done to us PS I bought Calendar 366 and it works flawless with the complications on the watch
I'm apparently not alone... Version 2.x had almost 5 stars, and was routinely in Apple's top 50 apps. As of this writing (2/15/2020), version 3.x has fallen to 2.8 stars and it has fallen out of Apple's top 200. No longer using or recommending, still I am curious to watch and see if enough people will pay $40/year for a calendar to keep it going!? I don’t buy into concept that the subscription model is the future of software!! Subscription = unusable = 1 star (*)
General functionality of the app was fine. I generally like the new visuals, but don’t like all the embedded items under a subscription (and that I’m being more or less “sold to”). My assumption is that the things I enjoyed about the app will eventually become locked behind a paywall. I wish there was a way to not opt in to upgrade. I don’t need a fancy calendar app.
NOPE, Not going to pay for this on a monthly basis. Went ahead and started using Calendars 5. $40 for a calendar app?! I DONT THINK SO. Do you not realize that’s insane?
I’ve been a user since day one. Wish fantastical thought about long time supporters by offering a one time life time grandfathered membership fee only for long time supporters of this app. I don’t see why not since other popular apps like Day One, fooducate etc., has done this. For now I’ll remove the widget and stick fantastical in a folder just to see where the company will go with their plans in future updates...
