I’ve tried just about all the route planning apps available, and this app is hands-down the best available. The only thing that would make this app even better, is having CarPlay be able to follow the routes created in inRoute - devs, please give this consideration!
I love this app, but after update with new maps I want to cry. Please, give me old maps back. Please. New maps are very hard to read and very hard to find most exiting roads.
**UPDATE I paid for the full version a year ago. I’ve installed the app on two iOS devices with the same Apple login and restored the purchase on both, but the pins don’t sync across iCloud. So much for giving the app another try. **ORIGINAL REVIEW I haven’t used the app in a while and it seems like they made changes and of course now want you to pay monthly for premium features. No thanks. I have enough monthly bills. Also I cannot figure out to simply send some pins to a friend who also has the app. I was able to do it a year ago when we planned a trip but it appears they removed the ability to do that. I do NOT want to sent a route, just pins. So now I’m looking for a new route planner app!
They limit your stops unless you pay for upgrade.
This app works very well, been using it for years for business and personal use. It uses Apple Maps and does a great job of auto routing points. It does have a hiccup once in a while and crashes, causing you to have to restart the app. Upgraded to pro a few years back, we’ll worth the cost! The biggest problem I have now is that suddenly there is no app for iPad and it even stopped allowing me to use my app I had installed. Hopefully this can be fixed?
Best system ever
Gotta start by saying that this app does a LOT of great things for the price- I love that it has built in navigation and the ability to adjust the route after optimization. I would find it PERFECT if it had just a few things added/fixed: 1. The ability to permanently avoid a certain road/ intersection - I know this is technically possible to do using “vias” but it is a pain to set up for each new route, when I simply need to avoid a certain road for EVERY route. 2. The ability to start navigation to any point of the route from any location. The app seems to only want to let you navigate to or from the points you’re nearest to, which can be inconvenient if you are starting a saved route from a different than normal location. 3. The ability to set a default layover time in user settings. This is nit picky, but it would be nice to not have to set each layover for a new route, when all of my stops are generally about 20 minutes. 4. The ability to add a waypoint while in navigation would sometimes be helpful 5. PHONE CALL - possibly the most important- I don’t know about others, but I need the navigation to SHUT UP when I answer a phone call. This is nearly a deal breaker for me. The only ways I know of to keep the GPS voice from talking during phone calls at full-volume are to either go in and mute the audio or end navigation entirely after answering. This is entirely inconvenient to say the least. Overall, I like it, but I’d love it with those fixes/fixes.
I do all my routing in the same general area and I will be looking at the county I have to go around (always in Florida) and yet as I type in directions it is always trying to auto complete the address and putting the city in other states and sometimes even a different country. It’s very irritating when I put in 12 addresses for one city and then it throws one pin all the way over in Australia because it has a similar address, not even the same, then I type the address out in its entirety including a zip code and it finally drops it with the rest of the stops I have.
I work delivering flowers for Schroeders Flowers in Green Bay Wi. I’ll have up to 25 stops to a certain zip code. When I didn’t have the app I’d pass an address sometime 3-4 times not knowing I have a stop that I’m passing time and time again taking up much of the day. When I first started using the In Route app. I cut my time by 2/3. I just up dated and is worth the small cost. I wish I had heard of this app 20yrs ago. 920-639-8333. Thank You, Dave.
