IF I’m able to log onto this app it boots me off within 1 minute or less and then locks me out for 15 minutes. What good is an app like this this if it only lasts 1 minute. The constant threatening pop up promises 5 minutes but that’s a lie. And what good is 5 minutes anyway??? I’d give it ZERO stars if I could!
I see that my review from a week ago is gone. My 15-Sep-19 review is amended as follows: I am now on the "five minute" list with the rest of the folks who are complaining. Unlike the others, it appears that, in my case, it is that I refuse to upgrade from v. 13 to v. 14 that is the issue. But iOS 9 devices cannot upgrade to v. 13 and cannot remote into computers running iOS 14. Therefore, Team Viewer is now disabled and useless for me. I'm lowering my review from two to one star. My review from 15-Sep-19: My issue is, last week, I was presented a message that I would be shut off at five minutes if I didn't upgrade from v. 13 to v. 14. The reason I froze my computers at v. 13 is that v. 14 will not download to my iPad 2, iOS 9. My iPad is stuck on v. 13 and if I allow my computer to upgrade to v. 14, then my iPad 2 cannot talk to my computer. To upgrade to v. 14 would disable Team Viewer for me. It would be of no further use to me. I would have to delete Team Viewer in its entirety from my system. Please explain.
I’ve been a free user for over 10 years. They just lost me. Recently they have been accusing free users of using the free product, commercially. I have 3 pc’s, and I use TeamViewer to run windows updates or turn them off if I’m upstairs before bed. Soon TeamViewer will not be a thing. Many free users are going to create a class action suit against this company. You will never get my money. I will never recommend team viewer to any of my friends. I uninstalled on every device I have. I am now using Chrome Remote Desktop.
I gave it up be star because I couldn’t give it less. Claims home use is free but then “detects” commercial use and limits you to 5 minutes. Don’t waste your time.
I’m deleting my TV accounts and software because I can’t rely on it any longer. Too many false detections of commercial use. This isn’t a free product any longer, it’s a trap.
I was locked out of the app after being flagged as a "commercial user" without any given reason. This is obviously a systematic issue that deserves more than a copy-paste response from the company. When a majority of reviews cite the same major recently-developed problem, it's not us - it's the software. This used to be a 5-star app. Now I'm being asked to fill out detailed forms to get approval for each device I use. After several years of using TeamViewer, I will now be using AnyDesk.
Why does this have to be so complicated? I’m not an IT guy and wanted to use to help my Mother remotely. Not worth the headache.
Program works adequately sometimes. Company has predatory policy of requiring written cancellation of a policy 28 days before cancelling no exceptions. Traps users into contracts they are stuck in. Every time I think of Team viewer I get mad. The hoops you need to jump through to contact customer service is ridiculous and I hope that whoever reads this finds encouragement to spend your money elsewhere
What happens when you use 4 computers to connect to each other on your home network (definition of personal use) for a couple of years then all of a sudden 2, and only 2, of those computers get accused of “suspicion of commercial use”. You stop trusting Team Viewer & everything it makes. Way to chase off potential customers you mouth-breathers.
I used to really enjoy TeamViewer. It's been my main remote desktop solution for at least 8 years. However, they just started instituting an extremely limited duration for remote desktop connections. There's no visible timer and it keeps counting down, even while not using the app. All you get is a cute screen that says your partner ID is locked until xx.xx am/pm. It doesn't even say it in a unit of time or give a countdown. TeamViewer has basically become unusable. I urge anyone looking to use this or already using it to look elsewhere. I have deleted my TeamViewer account and have removed it from all my devices.
