It’s somewhat functional but I’ve found so many bugs - can’t save my bio, have to keep setting my roommate preferences, the incorrect people show up under my preferences, etc. also it’s REALLY hard to get someone to reply to you on this app and my apartment is pretty amazing (got tons more traction on Facebook groups) so I’m guessing it’s just an app people download and then forget about. I like your concept Roomi, but it’s not quite there yet. Keep developing and fixing the bugs and you’ll be good.
What a joke of an app. Only somewhat useful in select locations. Doesn’t even have Boston as a search result. They’re just looking to hit as many people they can for the cost of a back ground check. So many better options out there...
Used to love the app, until I couldn't even start it anymore. Even before that it just would randomly crash. Using iOS 10.3.3 on an iPad, no other choice. I'm hardly alone, apple stopped updating for millions of devices at that level. I don't blame iOS tho, bc my other apps don't crash, Roomi is just not made well for us cave dwellers.
Wish there was a way to filter rooms that DON’T ask for a deposit. Also wish there was. And wish there was a way to filter by “near x train station” Also it’s annoying that you’re constantly asking me to put “where are you moving from”. Obviously the same place. I shouldn’t have to constantly put this when I send a message to someone. Same thing with length of duration. Also, what would be great is if I can actually filter when I want my move-in date to be - and it only shows me listings that are on or after my move-in date. If my filter says I’m moving in May 1, why show me listings asking for someone in March?
Hey I like the way the app is set up but one concerning issue. I would like to address is I live in Michigan, and there is no listings for it when asked where I want to live. is this unfixable or can you add my area in?
I have had no luck please close my acct out!!!! I don’t want too use any longer Kathleen or Kathy Hatfield
I booked a room through the app but the company that was renting out the room was more than shady. Even two months after moving out they have not returned the security deposit. I expect the app to be more careful in who to work with... additionally I had to pay a hefty fee to roomi a fee to move into the place. Never again...
My personal experience along with those I know who have used this application had been mostly only positive, with successful results. The people using the app to rent or find housemates have been savvy communicators, and it has been a pleasure using the app to explore new housemates! I feel grateful for the verification process, and it’s worth the investment to get verified. I also noticed an increase in the number of people who reach out to you afterwards, which means it probably helps your visibility in the app as well. The only flaw is that I think the app initially offered a map list view of all renting opportunities but it disappeared from the interface after my first day (Or I have not been able to find it again, at least)
Why did y’all remove the feature to view on map instead of list???? I’m trying to search on the map but it’s gone.
It was a waste of time and money. They make more money the longer you stay on the app. After all the money I spent boosting my ad on Roomi, I still ended up just finding someone to fill my available room on Craigslist.
