They moved shopping lists from the google home app to this app and made it worse. It constantly loses the list I’m looking at and goes back to “products I like” and it will randomly check off the wrong item when I swipe to check it off.
Why does isn’t it default to my shopping list? Why can’t they make that functionality front and center as it’s tied to Google Home? Do the Home and Shopping teams talk and share functionality ideas? Where did the check boxes go? Could you have your UX team/person use this app to actually shop? Please make it easier to get to my shopping list and stop defaulting to “products I like” (which have almost nothing to do with what my family shops for every week).
Buy on Amazon instead. An hour after the order is placed I noticed something strange on the receipt, since I rarely use Google Shopping, it is the wrong address, much older address. The customer service rep says that I need to return the items to get a refund. How??????!! I don’t even live in that city any longer. Worst shopping experience you can have in this day and age.
I can’t believe my Google Assistant forces me to use this app for my shopping list. Failure 1000 times over. The worlds strongest AI and it’s tied to this mess.
If you are downloading this app to use the shopping list, find another app. This shopping list is useless for going shopping. Perhaps other functions work better, but I got it for the shopping list integration with Google Assistant and it is an unmitigated disaster. Thanks for making shopping harder, Google.
Not being able to control which list shows by default is a major issue. 1 Star until this is fixed.
I love being able to use my google home to make a shopping list and view it in this app, but since the “Products I Like” list was added, whenever I lock my phone or switch apps while viewing my shopping list, when I switch back to this app the EMPTY “Products I Like” list will be loaded and rendered instead of my shopping list I had open. I only use this app to view my shopping lists and I would happily delete it if I could view my shopping list elsewhere. TLDR: You will not find this app on my “Products I Like” list
The Saved lists functionality now has by far the worst usability miss I’ve seen from any Google product in a long time - forcing the user 100% of the time to now click through the lists drop down to get to their “primary” shopping list (which will NEVER be Products I Like - nothing there). Painful to watch this failure go unchanged week after week (it’s been 2 months of this since the April 15 update). Now looking seriously at both the Bring and Our Groceries app - the latter which has substantially better shopping list functionality. Sigh...
No matter what list you have open if you close and reopen the app it switches back to Products I Like which can't be deleted. Makes it pretty impossible to use a shared shopping list in a grocery store.
This app used to be handy to use with google home to maintain a shopping list but now the two don’t seem to sync up all the time and the home adds them somewhere else. Then when you’re in the app for some reason, every single time you open it, to go to the shopping list you have to first go to a drop down, and select it from the list. Since the default list it starts on is “Products I love” or some other bs like that. And there’s no way to change which one is the default.
