The app use to give the addresses of the owners of the parcels. You could tap on the name, and the pop up info included the address where the tax bill would go to. So, at least, if you wanted to ask permission to hunt a property, you had an address at hand. And, if I remember correctly, it gave the parcel number also. It’s still a useful app, but not half as good, as it use to be. 🤬
I use both BaseMap and OnX and BaseMap is the way to go. OnX is good for land ownership but trying to search for a certain stream or trailhead in the search bar, good luck!! I’ve tried finding well used trailheads and creeks both in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, and 75% of the time it says try again. Go over to BaseMap, type it in (even if it’s spelled wrong) and it gives you several different options.
This is one of the best I have used, but the imagery is at least three years old for the areas I hunt. This makes it tough in areas that are logged each year.
When can we expect a map overlay(s) for old maps onto the map your application accesses? I’d like to beable to overlay my old maps onto this application...
I tried it for about a day. The location information was off by anywhere is from seven to as much as 100 feet. The boundaries were in accurate and property ownership was years old.
I hate this app. People are coming to our house ALL day long wanting to hunt. I can’t get anything done because of it. It is ridiculous that our name and address is on this app so people can bother us! We do NOT want people hunting, period!
I needed to switch states to use the private land owners layers, and the XHunt team responded very fast to my request, within minutes they solved my questions! Great job!
2020 baby. We been to the moon already and finally someone figured out how to Provide us with a high quality map system. Great app, great price. A retro apology to all those owners i snuck on 50 years ago as a kid. No excuse now. Keep it up
The only thing OnX needs is walkie talkie capabilities and some sort of emergency beacon in case of extreme emergencies. Other than that it does everything any hunter would ever need in the field.
Used OnX Hunt for 2 seasons & still finding new features. Maps are accurate and able to be used without cell service, invaluable when trying to find your secret spot, efficiently cover ground or track your harvest. When I did have a question I couldn’t figure out on my own their customer service was excellent. An actual person answered the phone who was very friendly & knowledgable was able to help me out in no time. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!
