Wind Compass uses the Forecast.io Weather data to provide accurate conditions where you are. Just open the app, let it update, and there you go. Forecast.io uses many sources and creates as accurate of a forecast as possible for your location. If you have any issues with Wind Compass please email firstname.lastname@example.org to quickly get the issue resolved. You can also submit a feature request or bug report right from inside the settings menu. *NOTE* Compass functionality within the app requires physical compass functionality built in. iPods can still get direction info but the compass will not update real time. *NOTE* Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. The closest wind monitoring station is over 20 miles away. The app shows 12 mph winds gusting to 20 mph, but not one drop of winds where I’m at. Perhaps if I were at that city where it’s showing the wind measurement, it might be more accurate. But for hunting, or firefighters in the forest, or for sailing on the lake, it’s USELESS !!!
If you want quick easy information about the wind direction, this is the app to have. Simple download, Zero glitches.
This is a good app except for adding location. Adding location is inoperable without upgrading to premium
I’ve only had the app for a short time, that said it appears to be very accurate and dependable. I love the layout, it’s simple and easy to navigate. I hope the developer can add barometric pressure in the future.

Simple- GREAT!!! But you can NOT zoom in or out on the map Crazy - only shows where you are and no relationship as to 5 or 500 miles
I’ve been happily using the free version for at least 2, maybe 3 years now. The first couple months I only used it to check the wind speed, but eventualy I found myself using this instead of the handful of other weather apps I downloaded. It’s far from the fanciest app and while I do miss the animated weather feature some apps have, I got tired of my phone showing rain/snow/sun when it wasn’t accurate. This app hasn’t disappointed or mislead me once.
Not accurate. Always reads about 10 degrees less wind than all my other apps.
This app is EXCELLENT. It is better than Weather Channel, except for Ari Sarsalari. Really. Get it. You won’t regret it.
