The individual player game doesn’t seem to load consistently, or at all. It is otherwise fun, and the online portion of the game works well for the most part.
Update 9/21/23: Circling back to say that none of the glitches I’ve mentioned below have been resolved or even slightly improved on a consistent basis. I would think that after months (or years, with non-Arcade versions?) the developers have enough information to go on without asking everyone to email them (which I have done in the past). 4.7 stars is far too generous. Way too many 5 star reviews saying “it’s glitchy, but…” 🙄 Update 5/30: It’s been another month, and despite an app update 3 weeks ago, if there is an improvement in online multiplayer play, it’s barely perceptible. Previously, I said I’d leave a game after 2 minutes if a player is inactive or the game is otherwise frozen (like sometimes happens after a player makes an incorrect accusation). I’ve since discovered that the magic “move on” time seems to be 3 minutes. That is way too long for a game where constant attention is required. Please cut it down to 60 seconds, or 90 seconds max. Also, I hesitate to bring this up now, when existing features sorely need to be fixed first, but it would be great if the points we earned actually meant something. It’s a shame that there’s no leaderboard and no achievements to unlock. Update 4/23/23: Another star off. I wish the app team would address these problems! Online multiplayer has not improved. It is worse. Now it frequently hangs in the multiplayer lobby, too. As in my previous review, I have not been able to finish one game today. I keep hoping that there will FINALLY be an update that fixes these problems. I keep coming back because it’s so fun during those rare times I can get through a game without having to bail due to a glitch or player going AWOL. I always get a timer ticking at me if I take too long, but it seems others can take all the time they want - maybe different platforms have different rules? Or is it just the bots? In one game today, a player wanted to accuse after one turn (they went first) and then nothing happened. I don’t know if it was a glitch, a bot, or a human trolling us. When games hang, they get 2 minutes max and then I’m out. Update 4/8/23- Taking off another star because online play has become even more unreliable. It is extremely frustrating, especially when the game is almost over, to have a character freeze. I have tried four 6-player games today and haven’t been able to reach the conclusion of any of them. I am also experiencing more crashes at startup. Also, what is up with the Graveyard in the Wild West board? That car thing that runs through it that’s only partially visible is really weird and hard to believe that’s how it’s supposed to look. Original review: Overall, I really like this game, and I understand it’s very new and there are some bugs to work out. The single player mode is fun. The online play can be glitchy. Sometimes it freezes completely. Other times it gets stuck on one player, sometimes so long I think about leaving the game. This tends to happen more when it’s a six-player game. The three-player game is less glitchy, but gameplay goes too fast with fewer people. I wish we could specify 4 players. Another feature I’d really like to see is a landscape option.
It won’t let me change difficulty and the clues that get checked off don’t match the correct player so it makes it really confusing. Also sometimes the game is daunting because it goes so slow, would like a faster version. Settings in the game don’t allow me to do anything except for turn off sound and vibration.
This game would be great if it weren’t for the long waits before start of game, and also between players. There should be a time limit in place for how long each player has to make a move / decision.
Great game! Reminds me of my childhood.
Having a really hard time trying to change the difficulty of the game :/
This would be five stars if I could speed up gameplay and skip dice roll animation. Note taking is excellent but could use additional symbols, ink colors, or something else.
I love the game so far my only complaint is the online mode. I still haven’t gotten people to join
Great gameplay. 4 starts because it needs a ranking for online play. Would be great to see or show how many wins each player has and know who the real clue players are
I’ve always loved clue and I’m happy it’s finally a good app game now. They do need to make it so there is a timeout when rolling dice, making accusations , pressing the “continue” button. There is a time out for choosing a card to show someone but that’s it. I’ve sat in games where people take 5+ minutes to roll the dice, make an accusation, ect. It’s pretty annoying and people probably just walk away from their phone. Other than that? It’s a great rendition of the original game!
