Description

Join over 42 million people. Have fun. Learn your fave language and impress the hell out of yourself with what you can achieve. Let real native speakers teach you their language from the streets of their home town through our Learn with Locals video clips. Give us a try – your first lesson's on the house. Choose your language: Spanish, French, Japanese, German, Korean, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Portuguese, Arabic, Norwegian, Dutch, Swedish, Polish, Turkish or Danish. Here's why we're different: We've got killer learning science behind the scenes. It speeds up your learning and helps you remember your new words, as if your mind keeps hitting the save button. Not that you'd notice. You're too busy watching fun video clips, seeing real locals in bucket-list destinations and playing little quiz-type games. The opposite of textbook learning. Wherever you Memrise, you're a million miles from the classroom. Then the good bit happens. You're in the moment, a local wants to talk. Do you freeze up? No. Not on our watch. You recall the key phrases you learned. You speak naturally. Not perfect but it's still good banter. You aren't worried. You're just going for it. You're off-the-charts confident. Mic drop. Download Memrise to: - Learn with locals: we took real native speakers and shrunk them into the app. Your miniature friends help you learn fun, conversational phrases. A few swear words too. - Practice games: our science does one-to-one coaching with your mind, while you have fun with Speed Review, Listening Skills, and Classic Review. Our Difficult Words sessions, powered with Apple's Core ML, is designed to help you master those trickier words. - Improve your pronunciation: so when you say 'beaucoup' (a lot) you never accidentally say it 'beau cul' (nice ass). Record yourself and our smart tech will tell you if you got it right or need to try again. - Learn anywhere: download your course to learn in places that don't have signal and seem to be stuck in the 80s. - Build an entertaining habit: learn as much or as little as you want. You only need 5 minutes a day to improve. Perfect for making your loo break a lot more fun. ----------------------- PLEASE NOTE: You need a Memrise subscription to access all courses and features. Reviews

Very good for memory

I am mixing this with duo and I feel like the combination is working great. There’s something about seeing and hearing native speakers using the language that makes comprehending it easier to me. Good job.

Still not working

1
Months ago I loved using the memrise app on my phone but after an update I was unable to do anything other than review. If I used it on my laptop no problem, but the phone app is junk and no longer taking up space on my phone. Duolingo it is.

Use Duolingo or Quizlet and save your money

1
Memrise’s pricing scheme is an absolute joke considering there are free apps like Quizlet and Duolingo whose courses were also created but not stolen away for Memrise’s to reap profit from. The Memrise’s developers are shameful thieves and in no way should be supported, period. I beg you not to fund their practices.

I am currently trying to learn Korean. It is difficult to learn. This app is extremely helpful. It is a step by step process to every word. This app is great at a beginner level.

What’s Up Doc

5
I have loved this app since the beginning. A unique and engaging way to learn. And I need unique because this is more difficult than I thought it would be. That being said I study several other formats as well. What is up doc? These words and phrases that are being thrown at me I do t even use in English. Yes I know them, but the point is ... I do not use them. I am always behind in this app and I can’t for a moment grasp how someone using Memrise alone will learn Spanish. It’s fun yes. It’s interesting. Yes. But ... I have gone from basic skills to boardroom lingo and I will never use nor need these words. Please get back to REAL LIFE CONVERSATIONS.

crashes every time i try to watch a video

i love this app and i use it as much as i use duolingo, but the problem is it crashes every time i try to watch a video (the daily videos they have) and i’m not sure if it’s just my phone or an iphone problem, but otherwise it’s great!

Great language app!

5
This is hands down the most enjoyable language learning app I’ve ever used. I really like the way the lessons are set up. For example, doesn’t make you learn all of the names of fruit in one lesson. It’s real world conversations centered around the location of the language you’re learning.

I thought this was an awesome learning app until I realized that when I’m studying my Korean I’m learning informal Korean instead of 존댓말 formal Korean
