Best Study Tool I Have Found

5
I managed a Christian Bookstore for 10 years and have seen a lot of study aids. This is the best and it offers a lot of free study helps. The developers obviously want to support the growth of believers.

Desired Bible version a separate pay-for app

3
I purchased this app because the description stated there are “over 100” other versions and resources available for free download. I use the NIV, NLT, and the NASB for my Bible study. All of those more modern versions are paid downloads. So disappointed. Maybe a list of free Bible version downloads should be included in the description.

Best Bible ever

5
Esword is the best electronic bible I know easy reading and user friendly. I recommend this above all other bible apps. This is truly a gift from God. Let not God people perish for lack of knowledge when this bible app is available. Hell screams every time I tell some one to download this bible app. Thank you so so much!

Good but needs continuous playback!

4
The narration of the books is awesome. I love it. But please make continuous playback in the background possible! It always pauses at the end of the chapter when I leave the app or lock my phone. It also doesn’t show up in the media box when it’s playing.. Also add a ESV Greek Interlinear Reference please! It’s kinda frustrating that NASB and KJV have a Greek Reference but ESV doesn’t!

Commentaries

5
The commentaries (esp. Matthew Henry) are hard to follow and find the verse you are interested in. An enhancement would be to try to break the commentaries down somewhat to specific verses, where possible. The commentaries are basically a cut and paste of the authors work, so it’s no different than having the commentary book in front of you. A value-added feature of e-Sword would be to break down the commentaries a little more. Additionally, it would be nice if you highlight a verse in the daily reading material, that it would highlight the same verse in your default bible. Right now it doesn’t. So if you highlight several verses in your daily devotional reading material, they are not highlighted in your electronic “bible”. You have to do it twice. In fact, why not highlight the verse in all the Bible versions / translations you have loaded into e-Sword. I often switch between multiple bible versions / translations.

Horrible Experience

1
Downloaded the app without warning that it only comes with KJV and a bunch of random translations that are uncommon. All your main versions are only available for PURCHASE, but that’s not the catch, they cost upwards of $20 per version!!! Not sure why this is considering several other apps give these version for free like Blue Letter Bible and the Bible App. I’m guessing it has to do with the monetization of this app ($2.99), each publisher is going to want their cut, makes sense but unfortunate that e-Sword is choosing to go this route. When I inquired about a refund they replied “apple is the one that charged me so I will need contact them” Honestly could care less about the $2.99 I feel this is a very poor use of marketing (unclear) and business choice (monetization at the expense of the end user). But at your own risk.

Inability to save notes across devices

1
This is a great Bible app! However, it lacks the ability for the user to save Bible notes, highlights, preferences, etc. across devices which is just unacceptable in 2019. Therefore, it only deserves 1 star until this basic feature is added.
