I really wanted to like this learning app. It seemed like something I could get the kids engaged with instead of the mindless games they usually want to play. However, since day 1 I haven’t been able to get in. The app says there is a problem with my email and password but there is no reset on any screen I can access. I have contacted customer service at first they couldn’t find my account but if I try to make a new account, my email comes up as already in use. The free trial has run out and now they are billing me for something I still can’t get into. Funny how they can find my account to bill me but not to help me. My more recent attempts to reach out to customer service have gotten no response.
I’m not sure what to rate this app so I rated it three for now. I subscribed the 8$ a month to see what it was like, and after the transaction was complete it did nothing. No next button or arrow. I thought something must of gone wrong so I went back and pressed continue. It lead me to the subscription page again. I tried to subscribe again, but it said I had already, and that I could manage it. I tried pressing the manage button but when I did, it just said I could cancel or change it to the annual subscription. I kept trying different things. I’m not sure if I’m just missing something obvious, or there is a bug. If the developers can fix this, or point out the obvious, that would mean a lot. Anyway, I will write another review when (hopefully) I get into the app for my little sis.
Completely non functional for iTunes users the app doesn’t move past the subscribe page (only after charging you 7.99 of course, that part functions beautifully). Just literally sends you back to the beginning of the app, and then lands you back on the subscribe page. When you select “subscribe” again, it informs you that you are already indeed subscribed. Totally ridiculous.
My kids love this app they in joy it.my daughter sometimes goes up to me and is asking to play homer and my son is so much more smart and talented sometimes he reads faster than me 💗. I think you will in joy it and your kids in joy it as much as my kids do and I do.
I love HOMER Reading and HOMER Stories! There are so many options to keep the child engaged. Stories collection is great. If you follow this company on social media, they have also been doing a lot for parents and children on Facebook and Instagram. So happy to find this.
My son loves this app & I have sat with him while doing some lessons. I think overall its a great learning app but I would love to see a parent app-along with this one- where we can see: time spent, scores on each lesson, levels, etc.. on a daily basis. As kids get older they get sneaky & say they are working on Homer.. but theres no way to prove that on this app.. unless it had a daily progress report.
I have a son who is autistic I was told that this may help but sadly it’s more aimed at “normal” kids then autistic. I wanted to like it but it’s not helping him we had it for 6 months and he kind of regressed
We love the app but recently (last week or so) the app freezes up after each activity and we have to restart. I have already done all the normal troubleshooting like re installing and updating and shutting off iPad. Hope a fix comes soon.
I downloaded this app after reading great reviews and wanted to try something new. My 5 year old son loved the app and spent a lot of time learning new sight words and sounds. I went to open the app the next day, but the app did not remember his progress. Now he has to start all over again? No thank you, these are words from my 5 year old. Please fix so that progress is saved. Otherwise great app.
Save your money, Khan Academy is way better and this one kept telling me the accomplishments my child was making in the app even when she wasn’t using the app!
