Please take down the factoids from you product descriptions, they are misleading and do nothing to recommend you to patients. The number 50% keeps coming up in adherence research because it is the average of any large, random set of numbers between 1 and 100 - there are no patterns or consistency here, and in some cases it is the analyst, not the patient, who failed to understand the doctor’s instructions. This app does nothing to prevent intentional overdoses or errors by medical providers and shouldn’t be citing total overdose numbers as if they are always the result of preventable errors by the patient. This app does nothing to address not picking up medications, which would be the result of not being able to PAY, following doctor’s orders (“You should start the antibiotic only if...”), not knowing the prescription is ready, not needing it yet, or making a deliberate choice not to use a medication. Apart from the first issue, these are probably worse problems for the pharmacist than they are for the patient, so why are we even talking about this?
I love this app because it makes it easy to remember to take your meds, gets refills, side effects, etc. I do think there’s a couple things that could be fixed though. 1) give a general time frame option. I have a medicine I take in the morning, with food. Depending on my day, that could be between 9 am and noon. I’d love a way to be able to put that I took those medicines, but I can’t yet. 2) as of the last update (this is written 05/22/20) the app crashed 3 times while I was trying to add a new medication.
Medisafe has been wonderful in helping to make sure the app works correctly. Helping through the pandemic in many ways! Email reply’s are in an appropriate time with concern to help! Best Medication App I have found. Marissa has been wonderful to work with. I have had questions and she has kept in touch through email to explain things.
My pain medication is “as needed” but can only be taken every 4 hrs. When a med is listed “as needed” there needs to be a timeframe option. To tell when another dose is safely available. Not necessarily for a reminder but safety in dosing. Yes, a patient can look at the time taken but it would be nice to have an “icon” saying “no dose available” or “dose available”. Or maybe red for not cleared and green for cleared for another dose. Just a suggestion to help out in the “as needed”. Those random doses are often the hardest to keep track of. Otherwise app seems to work well so far!
First surprise - this app does what it says and does it so well that it might be the best app in ANY category that I’ve ever used. Second surprise - it exceeds all expectations and continues to reveal a depth of features that are thoughtful & helpful.
I’ve used Medisafe for about a year and loved it. So helpful in tracking my many things and I love the customization. But as of two updates ago it crashes. Every single time I use it which is hourly. If I’m partway or almost finished adding a dose it crashes and I have to relaunch and start all over. Very frustrating for someone already dealing with lack of energy and illness. Support had me install a log tracking app to troubleshoot but now say they can’t recreate the crashing or solve it but I’ve seen others mention crashing too. Nothing changed on my end except updating their app. I’m about to go back to my own custom calendar entries which is clunky but at this point would be much easier.
Update button doesn’t work. Glitchy. iPhone version - which you CANNOT sync with this or any other device - works well, ironically (b/c did I mention, you can’t sync?). This situation is very frustrating, namely for someone who is neurotic & can’t seem to let it go. Which is why I have spent the last hour trying to adjust the end dates of various meds (that had passed their end date) only to find the update button unresponsive....and my meds - after all the trouble - STILL not showing up on missed/future dates. ALL THAT SAID, as a person who just went through 5 years of Cancer treatments - and LOTS OF MEDS - I am/will always be extremely grateful for this app/the makers...for keeping me on track and allowing me to focus on getting well instead of counting/remembering pills & managing meds. So thank you for THAT!
I had to take 5 anti-viral meds a day for a week due to shingles. This helped give me reminders to take it as well as remembering if I took the last dose are not. Makes taking multiple medications a day much safer.
Now it will stop sending you notifications if you don’t launch the app every week. 😒 guess it’s time to use another service.
This seems to be a good app for medicine tracking. As sophisticated as the app seems, for some reason, you can not set a reminder for meds that you take more than a month apart between doses. Seems easy to add to the software, but the app doesn't allow it.
