I deleted it. Originally installed it to be able to search for locations on the iPhone then xfr to the gps unit. But the smartlink search can’t seem to find anything. iOS maps has no trouble. Other features such as weather and traffic are better displayed on other apps, even iOS built in apps. So, I wouldn’t bother with it. The garmin gps works fine without it.
I have tried for a few days now. Nothing I do will get the app to connect to my Dezel. What a waste of an app.
Since the latest update on my Garmin gps I no longer have the traffic option on my gos when connected to my phone
I’m using an IPad Air2 and the app will not connect to the GPS. I don’t want my cell phone tied up using the app so prefer to use the tablet. But I can’t get a connection to use the traffic reports. Wish Garmin would go back to using the FM antenna in the power cord instead of using up our data for something that is broadcast for free over FM all over the country.
What happened to this feature? I used it quite a bit. At least when my phone would connect. Smartphone link is a good idea, but connectivity has always been a problem. I’ve used android sever versions and iPhone several versions. Always a problem connecting. I won’t pay for app adding again until you fix the problem.
In case one wants to search for an address which is 100 miles away, guess what! this app is useless. App only allows you to search nearby places, or drop coordinate(really!). Garmin maps are better than this, at least they have feature to setup an address. I am wondering how hard it would be to provide a search address feature on a smartphone!
I’ve noticed that my Garman motorcycle GPS the most expensive one is having issues syncing with my Sena if you could partner with them or ask them about the type of software that they are using would be very helpful are use my Garman device with my sena and my iPhone
I have not had any issues with connectivity or app bugs, so that is good. However, there is no place to simply enter an address and go. The app only searches nearby places. I am always doing all of my trip planning on other map apps, then I have to enter addresses and locations on the GPS after I get in the car. It would be nice to enter an address or location or be able to search for places nationwide then link to the GPS when you get in the car. It seems like a well-established major GPS company would know to include this.
Common garmin update with toll calculating options please
You guys make some terrific hardware, but you should be sad that this app is so limited with what you can do on the GPS. I cannot believe that you guys have not worked out so you better things. You should be embarrassed.
