Used to love this app for identifying ships and boats. Click on it and the information and a picture of the vessel would appear. Now everything is referred to your $.99 24 Access for Satellite service. Your response will be you have not reduced functionality. That simply is false. Your app now is useless. Everyone be aware.
The wealth of information in this app perfectly balances out the cumbersome user interface. A lot of difficulty in navigating around the various features could be solved fairly easily. I feel like I over-paid. A lot.
The vessel location isn’t very accurate. Most of the time it’s hours and even days behind
I got this app to track my son’s ship. The app cost $4.99 and doesn’t update u less you pay another $.99 for 24 hours to see satellite located position....rip off. What’s the point of spending $4.99 ?
Marine traffic was once a useful, and for some, indispensable tool. With the recent “update” you now have to pay daily to see the name/position of one vessel. Seeing unnamed vessels on the screen is not worth the original price paid for the app and certainly not worth the daily extortion money MarineTraffic is demanding now. The point of AIS is to have a better idea of who you are dealing with out there before you meet them. Extremely disappointed with this new development and I would no longer recommend this once great app to anyone. I would request a refund if I thought they would actually grant one.
Great app. I am amazed it is so complete. Could you include a distance measurement feature?
I recently bought a home in southport NC. The local folks recommended this app to keep track of ships going to/from Wilmington NC.
It will 99 cent you to death for accurate locations
