We became Nashville’s leading source of news because we know this: If it’s important to you, it’s important to us. Music, jobs, faith, transportation, government, health care, business, growth, education, the Predators and the Titans and your high school football team down the street. Our investigative reporters work to make this a better place to live and our columnists celebrate those who already are. It’s all in our name. We believe in Tennessee. We stand for Tennessee. We are Tennesseans. APP FEATURES: • Access all of the Tennessean’s in-depth coverage—every article, photo, and video. • Enjoy a streamlined, fast-loading experience that makes it easy to view the stories, photos, and videos that matter to you. • Get breaking news, sports scores, and weather alerts with real-time notifications tailored to your interests. • Customize your experience by saving your favorite stories, adjusting text size, using night mode, or reading offline. Impossible to navigate, nothing but ads. Cancelling today.
Gannett continues its commitment to mediocrity. The app prompts paid subscribers to subscribe every time they open it. You’re supposed to be able to follow other Gannett papers, but it forgets your selections.
Don’t bother with this… Literally every 60-90 seconds your screen is hijacked by a pop up ad for Tennessean merchandise, even if you are a paid-up subscriber. Compare the revenue from this ridiculous marketing strategy with the loss of revenue as subscribers cancel out of frustration.
As a subscriber, I’m using this review to complain about having pop up ads for Tennessean merch EVERY time I open the app.
Great to get every day
Interrupting the reader experience every few minutes with a takeover ad for the Tennesseean shop is not only intrusive. It completely destroys the user experience. I want to support local journalism, but this isn’t the way to do that. Please reconsider ad choices as well as support for 120 Hz for a much smoother scrolling and reading experience.
While the news and stories are well written and informative, it would be much nicer to have news from the whole state. I don’t live in the area this reports on so getting what’s happening in Nashville and mid Tennessee doesn’t really help. The name led me to believe it would be more about the whole state and not just about that area. I hope to see this news outlet grow into covering more areas! Again it’s a great reporting media source for what it reports on.
Used to work, but no longer can get the actual duplication of the print edition.
Don’t bother with the Tennessean. I’m a paying subscriber & am constantly bombarded with pop/ups that take over my screen. To be expected on free apps but not paid subscriptions.
The best app on my phone is the Tennessean!
