I love this app and it is a great way to spark conversation and ideas from your friends when tasting. Also it is very helpful to hear how others describe wines. But honestly it would be a huge improvement if I could sort my wines according to where I had been. We mostly drink bottles at restaurants so when I return to a restaurant I want to know what I had before and thought of it. Could there be a filter for the location since you already enter that information when you rate a wine!
Hey Delectable! I can no longer rate, the slide bar to rate a wine does not respond. The app is updated. What’s up? Reduced my number of stars to hopefully get your attention. I needed a quick method to keep track of the wines I've tasted, tasting notes and what I thought about them. This serves my needs perfectly. The 'insights' give me quick access to varietals and regions for easy cross reference.
Great app take it when your out shopping to get awesome info on what wines you are looking at. Most accurate reviews around. !
Great tool For research wines
First and foremost I wanted to say that I really enjoy Delectable, not only as an app but also as a community. I’ve been using it for years now as a paid subscriber and a featured user and will continue doing so indefinitely. I’d also like to give a shoutout to the Delectable staff for being responsive to bug fixes and suggestions; they’ve been neat to deal with. Below are a few suggestions I have as we move into 2020: (1) The relatively new function of being able to upload multiple wines at once still needs some updating as it’s a bit wonky. The app might correctly recognize one bottle but fail to recognize another, which (for me) causes issues with the entire upload when trying to edit the incorrect wines. I still upload one at a time to avoid this issue. (2) The location services provided by FourSquare is pretty bad, in my opinion. It can work well on one wine and then on the next wine it will pick up a different country’s locales. For example, I can consume two wines at our Four Seasons Hotel Houston but the location service may or may not actually recognize our hotel - it may only pick up a Four Seasons in Dubai or Instanbul. If it does manage to recognize I’m in Houston it may only show select options that are around me (gas stations, hospitals) but won’t let me search for a specific place here in town; it will show completely random locations if I conduct a search, but only some of the times. Personally I love tagging locations but unfortunately FourSquare is super buggy when it comes to offering the correct locations. (3) There is still an ongoing bug associated with deleting wines from a user’s profile. Sometimes it completely deletes a record and other times it partially deletes it (i.e. the system will delete the rating, wine name, and review but leave a record of the wine with the picture on the profile). This is rather bothersome as that “deleted” wine will still count as a tagged wine and will sit on the profile for an undetermined amount of time. (4) The comment system is bugged as well, namely because (a) you can’t edit a comment once you’ve posted it, and (b) sometimes your review of a wine will post as a comment in the comment section and not in the review section. Overall I enjoy the app, as I mentioned up above, but I still find several elements of it to be rather second-rate. I wish this were not so, especially because I pay monthly for it, but hopefully 2020 will be the year it becomes an A+ app. Cheers.
I’m pretty new to drinking wine. Love to go wine tasting 😋 And I need help at the grocery store. 😂
I added wine and review that I want only for me. I open app, wine is there and my review is nowhere. Why all this app are working based on social media, nothing different.
What is this find friends? I want to be able to find out about wine!
A wonderful way to capture specific wines and moments in time. Always fun to reference back and relive good (or bad) wines
Love the app been using it for a few years now. I’m curious that last week my appellation count was 499 but today it is 432. What’s up with that.?
