Could be a great tool but first work as advertised. I can’t sync between my devices. There has to be a better way to designate the key a song is in.
Hands down the most functional easy to use app for hosting chord charts. Any instrument can easily use OnSong with functions like capo and transposing and a metronome built right in. Great customer service to boot and always updating with new features and cleaning up current ones. Worth every penny!
Onsong not only is a comprehensive tool for any musician but also has exceptional support. There is a library of video tutorials, a huge manual, a live stream weekly and they are very responsive via emailed questions. Exceptional service is a rarity these days. If you are comfortable with software and are fairly agile in figuring out a new program it is very user-friendly. I have used it for gigs over the past four years. Works like a champ. Worth every penny.
Formatting is terrible, it does the same thing when you import a song chart to word and it jumbles it all up. It allows me to transpose on some charts and not on others. Much harder to use than advertised. Waste of 30 dollars!
My OnSong just turns black and freezes. I don’t know how to fix this issue.
Latest update makes zero sense..what happened to key and capo changes. I’d give zero stars if I could!
The Onsong software is nice in concept with plenty of good training videos, but there are enough problems with the software that I can’t give it more than a couple of stars. I’ll be glad to review it again when I find improvements in the product down the road. I was initially so excited by what I found in OnSong that I bought all seven of the “Add-Ons” and have explored many of the features since I purchased OnSong in August of 2018. In fact, if I hadn’t kept running into so many software bugs and then an issue with “Scenes” that their support staff couldn’t figure out, I would have given it four or five stars. I’ve spent a lot of time testing OnSong on an iPad Air2, iPad Pro, and an iPhone 6s. I found that OnSong sometimes crashes during and after editing songs, but it seems to be stable if I don’t edit anything after restarting it. I strongly recommend backing up your work often. If you’re going to buy OnSong, I recommend the OnSong Console Add-On if you doing a lot of editing - using a PC is much faster. Just be aware of the synchronization issues - I sometimes have to restart Onsong to refresh the app with the changes I made and saved from the PC. The MIDI Integration Add-On is tolerable, but it has some quirkiness that you’ll have to work through. I don’t have a good opinion of “Scenes” - I like the ideas behind it, but I found the background scenes to be very quirky and I couldn’t get it to control lights using ArtNet DMX. By the way, I’m an experienced volunteer stage crew lead in charge of stage lighting and effects for an organization that has hosted over 1500 folks at a time in the main auditorium - we use professional hardware and software for our productions and I’ve built several functioning proof-of-concept configurations using ArtNet DMX controlled lighting and about half a dozen different software apps on three different operating systems. I’ll continue to test OnSong in 2019 and might come back with an updated review.
The ap is pretty good but customer service is horrible so if you need something beyond the website help good luck
This app has taken my live show to a whole new level. Amazing features and super user friendly! Works great with the Guitar Tabs app as well.
I’ve been using OnSong for a few years now as a cruise ship piano bar entertainer and I’m quite pleased with the results. In this job the emphasis is on guest engagement and taking requests while keeping the energy up. I need an app that lets me move between songs lightening fast. OnSong delivers. I also appreciate being able to categorize the songs in so many ways. I have so many songs in my catalogue that I sometimes forget what I know when guests ask for songs and artists. A quick check in OnSong and I’m good to go.
