This app is worth nothing! NEVER correct. Cannot be trusted. Trains never arrive at time indicated by app. Either the app or the trains need to get it together and get it right!
Used this app for years—helped me stay safe countless times as a single woman relying on transit most of the time. Placing nearby lines behind a paywall is not only an impediment to the utility of the app, but a potential safety risk for myself and others who have traditionally relied on this platform to navigate. Maybe that’s dramatic, but I can imagine situations in which making the only useful features of the app inaccessible could have unintended consequences. Frankly, this app has been a waste of space since Lyft bought it, this new change just confirms it. Don’t throw away your money or your phone’s storage space, honestly.
I’ve now used Transit when traveling all around the country and in nearly every city it supports, it has become my go-to mapping provider. It nails the nearby transit and has very helpful routing, particularly with Transit+ features. I’m now a happy Royale subscriber.
This is my preferred app for catching the bus. I love that you can get real time updates on when and where the buses are. When I’m at the bus stop, people are amazed when I can tell them exactly where the bus is when it runs late. I always tell them to download Transit. My one gripe is I hate that the app switches me to the next bus time when I’m awaiting a late bus, or are looking for the bus times too close to when one is expected to arrive. It often shows me the next hours bus route, which in my city is different than the current route. This gives Transit riders bad info because it might be a few minutes before I realize I’m offering real time info regarding this hours route for the next hour’s route. To fix this, I have to quickly type in a future stop on my route and hope the app kicks in and realizes what route I am currently on. Other than this funky bit, I recommend the app. I used to be a Royale subscriber and let my subscription end without renewing due to this bug. If it were fixed, I’d gladly resubscribe.
this app is very inaccurate and it’s not a reliable source.
So this app is the perfect tool to keep up. It is very accurate and very easy to use.
It isnt too reliable. It offers different variations of routes to your destination but the timings are off completely. If you get this app make sure you adjust it to arrive at least 30 minutes earlier than you planned because only then will you be there on time.
This app worked well earlier. Now as it knows your lines, you’re being asked to “signup” for “better” time frames etc. if this wasn’t bad enough, now it takes forever to get a signal, where I have’ve always had excellent signal strength before and still do with other apps. And this in turn leads to no information, because it’s struggling.
Out in NYC specially when the app works it works. 2/4 times its terrible. Accurate when it wants to be and sends notifications if they do after the fact.
The best transit app I’ve used, really useful and has a lot of features that aren’t just seeing what time the bus is arriving.
