Reminders sync corrupts data

Seemed like a great design for a cross-platform todo list, but syncing with Reminders is very buggy. It’s much much worse if you have more than one iOS device, like an iPhone and iPad, as you will find tasks randomly duplicated, marked completed, etc. Now I have to find another solution, as I obviously can’t trust with my task data.

Used to be good, I finally gave up

UPDATE to Dev Response: Many companies have adopted the product/service model and are successful at it. I.e: Office 365 and Adobe CC, which I pay for. The point that seems to not be getting through, despite the many negative reviews is that your “features” are the equivalent of bloatware in Windows XP. You used to be THE BEST at this. Used to. Now you’re at the point where you literally have put a banner on your app icon to stand out in the App Store... if that doesn’t speak to you needing to re-focus, I don’t know what does. I want to pay for your service, but all the intrusions remove value. - Original review: Once upon a time an app called came out. It was glorious! It was using Helvetica, the design was great and it even was legible! It even had this cool thing that would allow you to sort out your day first thing in the AM. Oh, and it’s killer feature: Recurring tasks!’s team proved a demigod-like UX prowess... As with most businesses, one needs to monetize and so had to the Team. Gotta keep those lights on! Plus labor isn’t cheap and servers are expensive. I signed up. But how does one manage to make an app worse while charging for it? Ask, apparently they figured this out! First of all: I can’t buy the app outright. I need to subscribe for $35+ per year, or $6/month for features that used to be free. Not horrible, right? Wrong. There are other apps in the App Store that you can buy outright for $10. But assuming you’ve managed to get me to pay the subscription like I did, twice: why are you still trying to upsell me on assistants for $19.99!? somehow figured out how to be intrusive when you’re trying to get clarity on your day. Worse yet: somehow managed to put ads on a “premium” product without an opt-out feature. In other words: is the Hulu of to-do lists, when for the same money you won’t get commercials on Netflix or YouTube Red. I used to love Any, straight out the go Any, Chop up the tasks Any... Once upon a time, this used to be a good app.

Could be a 5 Star

I am trying out Things 3 because it has the ability to observe how far along I am on Tasks. The circle to the left of my Task will fill as I complete items on a check list. This is extremely helpful! If could add this to their app it would make hands down the favorite for me and I am sure other users as well. Please update the app with this feature or something similar.

So excited to find this app!

Such cool features! Especially love the list order can be based on which grocery store I’m in!!! Also sharing with the family helpful when one of us in a store - they know what’s needed. When we shop together, it makes dividing and conquering the list so much easier since we see what each other has scratched off the list! Uploading recipes is a fun feature and being able to add ingredients to grocery list from recipe is handy. And again..easy to share with the family. No more excuse...”I wasn’t sure what to do tonight” 😉

It’s a mess

Nowhere to set reocurring reminders and location reminders as promised on the app. The layout on the browser is completely different from the app. No calendar view on the web. Very easy to accidentally delete a task without knowing. No way to add things to grocery list without the automatic categorisation when half of the times they were wrongly categorised and even when they were right I rather have the option to turn it off. I don’t see any advantages using it compared to using the reminder from IOS. Overall it feels amateur. Ok if it’s free. DO NOT PAY FOR PREMIUM!!!!!! I will terminate it once it expires.
