Paid for three months of Fishbrain pro and although it’s useful, it lacks more granular filtering options that would make it truly amazing. As it is, I can’t find a way to filter for only recent catches. Instead, it shows every public catch ever recorded in the app, making for a cluttered map that has a lot of useless information. Yes, you can filter by month, but I’m not really interested in how many people caught fish in an area two years ago— I want to see what areas are active right now. Searching for a good fishing spot is also made more difficult by the fact that marinas, tackle shops etc are rendered in the same orange color as the “recent catch” pins. A visual way of distinguishing catches made from boats versus bank catches would also improve things— if you know you’re bank fishing, for example, it’d be great to be able to filter out boat catches on the map. What would also be really great is if the app could generate a list of best fishing spots within a certain distance from you based on the density of recent catch data, which could be filtered by species and style of fishing. As it stands it’s a good app, but with these improvements it could be perfect.
I paid for the pro plan upgrade for $20/yr, it charged my account but hasn’t given me the pro plan. It still asking me to pay and unlock.
Love this app. I use the free version and it still helps me keep track of my catches, and see what the community is using. Its like a Pokedex for fish. I wanna “catch em all” and see all the species I can log. I have one request and thats allowing to submit “how many fish” per log you use. If you are like me and catch 100 Rainbows a year it would be nice to take only a couple pics and submit that I caught 4 and it tracks. I’m just analytical like that. Otherwise rarer catches I log separately.
Amazing but I would change price Really expensive but cool.
It is social media just for fishermen
Every pin in a particular area is showing the same catch. It’s definitely a glitch. I have to move away a few miles on the map and click on a different pin to get away from that catch. Then it’s stuck on that catch, till I move away again. Kills the whole purpose of seeing what different people are catching and where.
I really like it and it is very helpful
Best fishing app out there decent prices and they put you on the fish
It being that this is a user made database for anglers it great and super accurate. It’s simply great, I found A LOT of local spots I never knew about until using FishBrain app. Definitely recommend to everyone
