Poor contributor support.

On May 26th Shutterstock suddenly gave its contributors a 6 day notice that they would cut their earning by 60%. They sent an unclear, haphazard communication (with one correction mail hours later) on how they would screw over the very people who make the content you love. Buyers : Please take your business elsewhere, where fair payouts mean you'll always have beautiful up to date images.

Stiffing the middle man

You thought getting paid 25 cents was bad. Just wait. SS just warned us in 6 days we’ll be getting compensated even less. Stating “Shutterstock aims to provide customers with competitive plans and pricing, while fairly compensating our contributors for the time and talent invested in the production of their work.” So now, making less than 25 cents and image is fair? For the sometimes hours of work I put into projects. This is absurd! Horrible excuse to insanely profit off of the ones make them all the money.

TOO EXPENSIVE + iOS App is too different from desktop! “Shitterstock”

Where do I even start??? UGH- DO NOT UPDATE, WHATEVER YOU DO!!!!! I’m really upset about is the way they’ve changed their iOS apps. I used to LOVE the Home Page feature “we think you’ll love these images” underneath the “previously viewed” section, which I just looked and now THATS GONE TOO!! WTH?! Last, it’s become insanely frustrating when you add new images to your saved collections, it literally takes forever for your collection folders to load. So long that sometimes I’ll click “add to collection”, set my iPad/iPhone down to get a drink, etc. just so I don’t have to stare at that shimmering silver blank screen!! Shutterstock is quickly becoming “Shitterstock”!! I’m trying to get my designers to go with Ghetty Images or ANYTHING OTHER THAN this crappy program. Oh- and forget about customer service. Never fails I’ll write a long winded rant or issue on their “contact us box” only to get a big fat ERROR pop up, with 30 minutes of my time I just spent writing the thing, LOST! ANOTHER THING.... I own a boutique that offers printed clothing. My manufacturer has a commercial, unlimited subscription they use for us to send them the shutterstock links of the designs we want printed. So there is no need for me to purchase ANYTHING- since I’m already paying my manufacturer. The problem I’m facing is I have a HUGE (10k+ customer base) PRIVATE VIP FB Group that I post “screenshots” of hundreds of designs for the customers to originally VOTE on their favorites, BEFORE I send the actual links to my designers. I’m having to literally alter and cover up the watermarks on these, which I know a lot of you reading this will probably slam me for this, but if you actually saw my whole process you’d totally understand my dilemma... Shutterstock needs some sort of “light downloading” option or something, for us that don’t even know if we actually NEED these images yet. Make it where we can’t officially download the actual files, or SOMETHING! It’s so unfair that they would be getting paid TWICE for the same images, used by the same user. Another thing

You can’t make decisions.

You can’t opt out of plans online, it has to be with their consent. I’ve never seen something like this in modern times!

Do not update

Latest update you’re not able to save to your collections. Upon clicking the heart icon to save to your collection the app seems to be loading your collections forever. Super frustrating

Its ok if ur a pro I guess

It wont let me edit the pics, I’d rather get an app that lets me edit right when I download it, too many hoops to jump to get something simple done.

My go to for images!

It’s easy to love this app for the diversity and quality. Using it is easy. My graphic artist for my company swears by it.

So slow on Apple devices

The app is so slow to load or eventually times out. Unable to use on iPad or iPhone
