I’ve used Strong for years and it’s really helped me improve my workouts. The only thing that continues to bother me is all the steps needed to take when finishing a workout on the watch app. Maybe I’m missing something in settings, but PLEASE add a way to streamline when finishing a workout on the watch. You have to hit finish workout, and then done, and then if your routine was any different than what was previously saved, there’s an option to either “keep original workout routines, or update to new routine”. Something to that effect. I’d really appreciate it if we could change that in settings to always keep original workouts. Or just make it less steps in general. I know It’s just a small annoyance, but coupled with a slight loading time after I hit each option it really slows down completing a workout. Otherwise love the app and continued updates!
I’m reviewing about five similar strength training/tracking apps. This one has more features than the others. One feature I have been missing since opening it the very first time is the ability to switch to a dark mode. I’ll update in a month.
I’ve tried the other top workout tracking apps and this one is the best overall for customized workouts and Apple Watch. It’s apparent they put a lot of thought into Apple Watch functionality: - 3 small vibrations instead of one when rest period is up (it’s easy to miss one) - Heart rate display during rest period - A line at the top left that switches between workout duration (time) and current heart rate. Switches every 5 sec (I would change this to 3 or maybe 4 sec because I don’t need a whole 5 seconds to read the time lapsed or my heart rate) - Scrolling down for more options during current workout (incl history and notes). Other apps don’t do this - Option for lifetime access. I like having this option, although, personally I don’t mind supporting them in perpetuity
A great app for tracking workouts and maintaining progression through your programming. I’d like to see a number of things in the future, but I’ve heard the developers are already working on some of them (e.g. computer compatibility, more tracking info, etc). I think it would be great to actually be able to track my eating within the app itself because the MyFitnessPal conversion doesn’t work even a little bit. Would definitely like to see a lot more customization, colors, change the graphs, etc. well worth the money. Would recommend this to anyone who tracks their workouts in a dedicated manner.
I love how this app works but I would like to see it be more interactive with automatically recommending weight increases when you reach consistent goals. For example, once I reach a certain weight I can do all reps for all sets, the next time I do that exercise, it recommends I add more and adjusts accordingly to your successes. It would also be nice to be able to import exercise routines from online sources. I get a few routines online that allow you to download into a PDF and would be nice for it to automatically import those. Just some ideas I have seen with other workout apps.
Perfect for weight training when you have some experience. I can create my own exercises along with using the ones in the library and track my lifting progress. Changing up routines is far easier and I keep progressing far better than any time in my lifting life. If you have no idea what to do, get some training first. This is my favorite lifting app!
Sustained fitness is about determination, habit, and actualized data. Strong drives on all three fronts, as I am now more organized, more efficient, and better able to see metrics and trends therein. There is no better granular, workout app and with hopeful product roadmap upside pegged to sharing and interoperability. #GetStrongBeStrong
Can anyone tell me if this will work on Apple Watch series 1? Thank you
Update; I’ve figured out how to add plates. Nice app
I looked far and wide for a way to track my workouts, and this is by far the best app I’ve ever come across. I paid for the year subscription and the way that you’re able to create your own workouts is what every gym-goer wants. You’re able to review your past workouts, and there is a one rep max calculated into it. And you can switch from lbs to kgs too. Best app ever
