The Couch to 5K coach you select talks to you during your workouts. To save your battery, Couch to 5K sends audio notifications when your screen is locked or another app is in use. To be sure you hear the coach during your workout, please do the following: • Turn on Notifications permissions • Turn on the hardware ring/silent switch (no red showing) • Turn your ringer volume up • Turn off Do Not Disturb (swipe up for Control Panel and the moon button should not be white) • Within the app, in Settings > Workout Options, be sure the Trainer Volume is up Without granting notification permissions, during a workout you can click the lock icon at the top left to keep the app active and still hear the coach. Uber annoying “motivational” features

I used this app a couple of years ago and got to a 5 k pretty quickly. There was no way to turn off the “trainers” but they were fairly unobtrusive. There were a couple of other interface annoyances but I could see past them. Now, there’s no way ignore the trainers since they’re so chatty. The generic encouragement interrupts my books/music and my flow. I paid for this app and now it is difficult to use. There should be a minimal trainer that just announces the segments.

Great App to Get You Going!!

I would give this app 5 stars, but the Community uploads never connect to their server. Otherwise, it’s a great app for getting “couch potatoes” up and moving. Don’t be afraid of this app. It gets you up and moving slowly, with mostly walking to build lung capacity. I’ve lost well over 100# by stopping Coca-Cola and using this app!!

Helped me get off the couch

Love this app and it is a big reason I am active again. I am about 4 weeks into the program and I love all of the features in this app. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is that at this time there is not a way to shuffle the music playing during a run. Would love to see that featured added in a future update. Thanks for a great app!

Battery

This kills my battery on my iPhone. I even turned off background app refresh for it and limited it from accessing data and GPS... I only use it as a timer on my treadmill. Still like 24 hours in background. I really don’t understand. A shame I like the functionality.

I love it, but it doesn’t connect with Fitbit or MyFitnessPal.

Great app for beginners

It’s a great app for beginners. First running app I use, I am on my third day and can tell it will help me reach my goal to get off the couch. I did not give it stars because when I read it offers the Apple Watch app I thought I was going to be able to use it without carrying my phone with me on the runs, but for the app to work on the watch the phone was to be within range. At least I didn’t find a way to have it standalone in the watch.

Cheap and Effective

The workouts are easy to follow and really ease you in to running. I like that it’s a low, one time purchase and there are no other charges besides that first one.

Crashes during a run and doesn’t count

It has crashed numerous times during or at the end of a run. and did not count it at all. NOT OK! Give me my money back

Watch to phone

I do enjoy the app and the pace it gives me. I have two issues with the app. 1) I do not like to run with my phone and even though it says it’s I watch compatible the app does not give me the changes from walk to run and will not stay open if I do not have my phone with me. 2) it is not a walk/running tracking app in the Health app/feature on the iPhone.
