Make free calls with a real number on the original free calling and texting app. Pinger comes preloaded with free calling minutes that can be used to call anyone in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico. After that, minutes are free to earn or cheap to purchase. SMS messages are also free. On top of free calling and SMS, additional features include voicemail, group chat, MMS picture & video messaging, emoji, ringtones, and more. WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING “It’s like having a real phone number from the carrier. Except FREE.” –Nick “I started using this app back in 2007 on my iPod touch 3rd generation... Works every time, voice calls are clear, and no one knows it’s an app and not an actual phone. Highly recommended.” –Scott “I have used this app as my main phone number for years. It is just as reliable as an actual phone number.” –Kay “I’ve tried several, but hands down, Pinger is by far the best. Why? Simple: It works. Period.” –Tuc “I would rate this like 100,000,000 stars but can’t :/ only 5.” –Molly “Great to have a backup number especially when you travel abroad.” –Milo —— © 2020 Pinger, Inc. 1/5 Stars

Good on house WiFi, but terrible on the road. You can expect 9/10 calls to get dropped.

The app is fine, but why on earth is it filed under the “Education” category in the App Store listings? Makes no sense to me

Great App!!!! But.....

This is one great App. I love it!!!!! However getting two notifications in a week that you need to use the app or lose your number is annoying. Once a week is annoying enough. During these uncertain times, we should have no worry over losing our number. The only option to keep our number is a monthly fee. Why not do a one time fee to keep our number? It makes sense.

Heading down hill

I’ve been using this app for something like more than 10 years or so. I’ve seen it grow from a dumb little app to what it is today. Unfortunately with dumb full screen ads it has gone down the path of cheap junk apps. I used to pay to remove ads when it was only a few bucks per year, but once they went to the monthly fee I stopped subscribing and stopped using the app as much. Now with the full screen ads I am seriously considering deleing the app. Sad but if there is one thing I am not willing to put up with is full screen ads. I was a paramedic for ten years and now I’ve been a patrol officer for three years. In all those years I’ve recommended Pringer and Textfree to thousands of people, but now that will stop and I will wait one or two updates to see if one of the developers regain some sense of common decency stop with the greed for more and more money. The app as not advanced much, if any, in years to justify the move to full screen ads.
