I took almost two years but they’ve finally updated the app and fixed a well known issue with access for print subscribers not being able to view issues. I had given up hope completely and uninstalled the app about a year ago. On a whim I decided to see if the app had been updated and much to my surprise it had. The app now has a menu from which print subscribers can actually use their F&S log in to access digital issues unlike before where attempting to “log in” only prompted you to change your password. When it works the app is my preferred way of reading F&S. When it’s reading time I almost always have my iPad handy but the same cannot be said of my print copy of the magazine. Reading the magazine on the app really is a pleasure with the HD images and the ability to zoom in and out without getting pixelated.
After many years I cancelled my subs with almost 3 years left because the publisher wanted me to pay for a digital subs as well! Utter nonsense to pay twice for the same content when previously it was free. This business model will probably result in the demise of a pretty good mag.
How where do I enter email address if receiving the print copy
After most recent update app no longer works. No way to restore purchases.
I do not support the direction this company is going. Field and stream is a store that I have always gone to for all of my hunting and shooting needs. I have always loved going in and enjoyed their fair priced items. I recently went to one of their stores and I could not buy a spring for my gun bc they completely sustained from selling anything that has to do with an ar-15 including parts. I am very sad to hear this therefore I will no longer be shopping at field and stream or dicks sporting goods. I am also canceling my subscriptions to their outdoor magazine.
I have read this magazine for years and love it. I recently bought a few magazines on line so I could read at work, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get back to the library once I open a magazine on my phone. What a terrible app. Please fix it so I can read the magazines I purchased. Thanks
You can’t navigate back to the library after you download an issue. You’re forced to delete and then re-download the app. Fix this please!
I am a print subscriber with the current subscription. But time after time I cannot download the most recent issue from the app. It will only allow me to see the preview without paying just shy of four dollars to see the rest which is about 25 percent of the one year subscription price (that I already paid).
You can not view any past editions with anything 7+, therefore, it seems like they are not willing to update, so don’t spend your money buying the online version.
The in app library does not work, thus once you open one of the F&S magazines you can’t go back into the in-app library to open another month’s issue. You will have to delete the app then re download it if you want to open up a different months issue. I’m not sure how Apple is even allowing this app to be sold in the App Store with such a huge issue. I bought 5 months ($3.99 each) and can’t even open them up.
