I've been using the iOS version of this software since the very beginning. I also use an app that shows a national radar map and temperatures and such, but when I want to examine what's happening at a local level, there is nothing that beats this program, in my opinion. I admit that a lot of the information presented is kind of technical, but as an weather fan it has been worth reading their help and learning about these things. I recently updated from the Pro1 tier ($10/yr) to the Pro2 tier ($100/yr) and have found it well worth it for all the new data and graphics to learn about.
Pay for a subscription for the iOS versiona and it not carry over to this app on the mac. really a horrible business model.
I've been a long time RadarScope user on iOS and Pro subscriber... I went ahead and purchased RadarScope for MacOS as a convenience factor despite it not offering any difference in functionality and the frankly exorbitant price in comparison to the iOS version. I soon discovered that despite my having a pro subscription (that works across iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS devices) I was not able to restore my subscription on the MacOS version. The RadarScope policy evidently requies yet another subscripton to work on the MacOS version and will not share my existing one (again despite offering no difference in functionality... and working across multiple other platforms). The app itself is good... the pricing and company policy are extremely dissappointing and feel exploitative. I'll be looking to replace RadarScope with other alternatives sadly.
Ive tried so many different radar apps for the mac and have always been disappointed. Not anymore. RadarScope is fantastic on the phone and now its even better on the Mac - especially with the very inexpensive Level 1 pro subscription. I dont understand anyone giving this app anytihng but 5 or 4 stars.
There is nothign else like this for the Mac. Whether you are a weather enthusiast or a die hard storm chaser, this is THE app to have. Its tightly focused on ONE radar at a time. Its not designed to provide mosaic views of multiple radars , a function some reviewers dont seem to understand. The developer provides outstanding support and is open to suggestions and bug reports. By far thi is the best app Ive ever purchaed!
I subscribe to Tier 1 in itunes. I paid $29.99 for the Mac version and it will not restore my subscription. It is telling me that my "radarscope.app" is damaged; for me to delete and reinstall, which I did. Still broken and will not validate. All this during a severe weather event...
Works for me
This was a great app with current weather, weekly forecast, and local and US radar pictures. But the radar is no longer functional.
The "new" rending engine broke rader scope for early 2010's macs its now a JUNK PROGRAM
I like how on the computer you can use a quad panel. I don't like how the warnings don't pop up sometimes. In order for me to see the warnings sometimes I have to switch to AllisionHouse. I feel like for Pro 1 tier people should have access to the SPC outlooks, hail contors, etc. Also I feel like you can add in more stuff that would make this app better. I think you should add the rotation detecor, add in the tornado impact number (ex: 0-10) with 0 being almost no tornado on the ground and 10 with this is a tornado on the ground. And also I feel like you can add in a place for you to add in a custom storm track so we know what time the storm will hit. Please seriously consider this review.
